Located in the heart of York, The Bar Convent Guest House is only a 15-minute minute walk from the city center and just over 984 feet from York Railway Station. The Grade I listed building offers an exhibition on the history of the site, a garden and free WiFi. All of our rooms have private bathrooms and also enjoy the use of our newly renovated guest kitchen and sitting area. Breakfast is served in the on-site café, where guests may enjoy a well-stocked continental buffet breakfast including fresh fruit, pastries, toast and cereals or upgrade to our award-winning full English breakfast. Breakfast is served until 10:00 on a weekend, and until 9.30 from Monday to Friday. Many historic sites can be visited within York’s city center, such as York Minister - one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe. Clifford’s Tower, York Dungeon and the National Railway Museum are also on offer.

The guest house was very clean and well kept. The room was small and cozy, but still big enough to have everything you'd need. The hotel is very close to the train station for easy travelling. There is also a kitchen for guests to use, which is handy.

The Bar Convent is very close to the York train station which made it easy to get my luggage to the convent. My breakfast was fresh and made quickly to order.
My shower did not work. I tried several times to get it to come on but ended up having to wash up via sink which wasn't ideal. I told the attendant upon check out and she said a few rooms had troubles.
