The room was definitely not deluxe, large but poor standards. Hardly any plugs, uncomfortable bed, average bathroom facilities.
Location, staff, breakfast, and reasonable priced drinks & food
Walls are thin so can hear next room Drainage very poor in room 012 toilet makes loud bubble popping sound after flushing so don’t flush in the night as it’ll keep you awake Need more pillows & covers so you have choice 012 lower level looks out to the car park so have to keep curtains closed all the time or people can see straight in Could do with instructions in room for heating Would not stay in half term again too many children running around and taking of pool time so not the best time to go away if it’s piece and quiet your looking for
The hotel was really clean and inviting, all staff were friendly and welcoming.Had a meal in the restaurant which was lovely, the breakfast was amazing plenty to choose from catering for everyone.Would definitely recommend and stay here again just maybe ask for a different room (maybe with a view).
Stayed in room 306 mattress was extremely hard and pillows very flimsy.Really short lead on kettle meant the only place we could plug it in was behind the tv which was a little unsafe.Extractor in bathroom stayed on all night which was slightly annoying.
It was clean.
We was checking in and took a long while and the manager had to check our payment went through as the system went down, quite embarrassing really. Beds was uncomfortable, room was cold, we put the heating on and then had the manager knocking on the door too say we have had an alert to say the room is too hot I understand it is for safety but the heating was right next to the sensor.
Staff were friendly , however the cleanliness was not up to standard and our room was not prepared properly
Could hear people walking above our room all night
Loved the spa facilities but do think steam room and sauna on the small side.
Open changing rooms. I changed in the baby changing area as im not comfortable changing infront of strangers. Small sauna and steam room. Would of expected more luxuries for a 4 star hotel. Was very basic
Location was really good, with a couple of local pubs, two local shops, ( one being in the petrol station). A nice bar in the hotel showing both sky and tnt sports channels.
We found the hotel really nice, nice atmosphere, and our room was big with two TV's in it. I feel the hotel could do with upping the maintenance in certain parts. In our room some of the light switches didn't work ! There were two heater units, one in the bedroom and one in the living room part. The unit in the bedroom didn't give any warm air ! And to top that off the second day we were out in York, we came back to the hotel to find a window had been left open in our room, which now read 8 Deg ! A leaking pipe under the sink which left water on the bathroom floor. In my experience it's was probably just a weep and had been like that for some time. Having worked In the hotel and travel industry for a number of years this stay was nice but could have been better.
Really friendly staff, nice clean room and facilities
The food in the restaurant is ridiculously over priced
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and genuinely loved almost everything about it. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, which immediately set the tone for our trip. The hotel itself was clean, well-maintained and beautifully presented, with a lovely atmosphere throughout. The facilities were excellent and everything felt thoughtfully done to make guests comfortable. The location was another huge bonus — just a 20-minute walk from the city centre and all the main tourist attractions, which made it incredibly convenient while still being peaceful and quiet. It was the perfect base for exploring.
The only significant downside was the bed. It was extremely hard — uncomfortably so — and unfortunately it disrupted our sleep on both nights. For this reason alone, we won't be staying here again which is a shame because the rest was wonderful. But what's the main thing you want out of a hotel?... Somewhere to sleep. We didn't sleep for two nights.
The hotel in general was fantastic, the room was lovely and spacious. The staff were fantastic and very happy to chat especially in the bar in the evening.
Plumbing in the bathroom. Nothing major but took a long time for water to drain.
Swimming pool, fridge and water in the room
Pool breakfast choice staff all very friendly
Room quite tight with 2 double beds to get round either side of it
The breakfast and the hotel bar.
The room heating did not work. No shower. Boiling/freesing. Wallpaper off the wall. Awful condition
Nothing it was very disappointing. I upgraded by email to the penthouse corresponding with someone named Kassish who offered me this. Staff took my money on reception for the upgrade and I was given the key for a ROOM. Not a suite or the penthouse as promised.
It was not the penthouse I was promised
Good location, breakfast was good, bar and staff were nice
So this break was booked for my partners birthday and valentines weekend but went away with other friends too that had booked after me and I had this booked for months. Went to check in at 3 room wasn’t ready, the queue was very long due to couples having a weekend away. come 4:30 I join the queue to be told my room still wasn’t ready when but all other friends were in there room. I said I couldn’t wait anymore as I had a meal booked 6pm. Finally got a room but I don’t know why the wait was so long.
Room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and had a variety of options. Pool and leisure facilities were really good. Location was perfect for York attractions. Loved the little additional happy birthday notes, balloon and treats - thank you so much.
Pillows were too soft and made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. We had some bookings at the spa and they were lovely, but would have liked a separate area to relax after our treatments. Would have appreciated another towel for my long hair in the bathroom.

The room, the pool, the breakfast, the parking
Good room and breakfast
Couldn't find light for balcony and reception team also didn't know where it was, so couldn't use balcony in evening
