    Cons -

    • Dinner priced as a top restaurant but not serving top restaurant foodBreakfast was expensive Filter coffee only for breakfast, espresso based coffee is extraDatedRooms need a bit of love

Near to cruise terminal where we dep for Norway in the 4th Jan 26 for 10 days and also went to D-Day museum.

    9Kelly-annPosted on: 1-31-2026

The location was great. Very nice lobby and the staff were really friendly. Free parking was really convenient. The bed and pillows were really comfy. The room was nice and clean.

    9RebeccaPosted on: 1-26-2026

Small but comfortable room, well equipped, quiet and nicely decorated. Good mattress and pillows. Plenty tea and coffee, nice bottle of water and fresh milk supplied from the bar on request (hate UHT stuff)

Lift was the slowest ever and the lighting in the room could have been brighter for make-up. Not many shelves in the bathroom, overhead shower was not very easy to use.

    9MichaelPosted on: 1-26-2026

Lovely, traditional hotel which has been kept up to date without losing the period features. Room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. They even added in breakfast when hearing it was my wife's birthday. Even better, the Portsmouth FC team were also staying and we got to have our photo taken with them! The location is fantastic and there are lovely walks from the front door.

    Nothing really.

    The location and comfort

There were two weddings happening. As there rooms were being reset there were literally tens/a hundred people in the lobby, up the stairs, in the main bar. I gave up trying to get a drink

    9DouglasPosted on: 1-19-2026

The location of the hotel is superb. We had easy access to the waterfront and nearby restaurants. Breakfast was superb.

    10KellyPosted on: 1-18-2026

Beautiful building, friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms. They were busy with functions but that had no impact on guests using the facilities Can’t fault it.

The room was very hot! Even in January. But there was a fan so all good.

    10SophiePosted on: 1-17-2026

The room, facilities, decor, top staff. Great breakfast from a wide choice.

It was a bit too jot in the bedroom and the bathroom but it was easy to turn it down.

    9NoelPosted on: 1-13-2026

Beautiful hotel. Very clean , professional and friendly staff.

    10StowellPosted on: 1-8-2026

Very comfortable bed and upgrade which was much appreciated. Excellent in terms of space and outlook. A real contrast to newer chains such as premier inn.A quiet time post christmas. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the dining room and reminiscing about Portsmouth. Our staff member was very attentive and chef was on top form.

The radiators were on full blast but at least we could control them.

    9AndreaPosted on: 1-6-2026

Christmas decor, mostly friendly staff, position of the property, that it has parking, breakfast

That they allow dogs on the 3rd floor and they bark at 1.30 in the morning. Our double deluxe room was small, no dressing gowns or slippers in a deluxe room.
