Not enough storage space for clothing.
The room was very basic and the noise from the bar which was close by was very noisy. The breakfast was the only thing that saved the visit. which was in a different hotel 2 doors down.
The room location.
It was easy to find. It was also very quiet.
The bed was not that comfortable
Pretty raucous bar on premises—-a lot of fun. Not the quietest place, but fun and friendly. Within walking distance on the Royal Navy Museum, with HMS Victory and the remains of the Mary Rose. Great.
A bit loud, but fun and friendly
Friendly accomodating staff, clean comfortable bed, hot water shower, clean towels, tea and coffee.
Shared toilet, to far away from room.
It was very local to Portsmouth harbour and the town centre which was in walking distance
The room what we stayed in was very comfortable and and the breakfast was very nice plenty to choose from but the floor was very dusty
A very small room in a very loud pub where every beat from the music was felt when trying to get to sleep for an early ferry. The room would benefit from being updated. No hot water from the tap and so we didn't risk a shower. The bed was surprisingly comfortable but crushed against one wall made it difficult to get out of. The parking arrangement is helpful.
Late arrival access from car ferry. Shower facilities though cramped, acceptable.Breakfast was acceptable.
I expected basic facilities, as I was only there for the night and arranged a late arrival (11pm).Though the bed was very uncomfortable (Very soft) and only one group of sockets by the window meant difficulty in plugging in kettle.
The staff were very friendly, the location great, but sadly the room was extremely dirty. The doors, the shower, walls in the room and the bedside table were just so bad that me and my partner were stopping each other from touching it.It made us feel very uncomfortable.
The cleanliness standards - my score would be between 0-1 :-(
I gad a roof over my head for the night!
Mattress is a marshmallow, bed slides out when turning, a rising horrible smell from the shower drain and seriously dangerous looking electric wires!Truly unpleasant for the money!Sort it!
The Lady Hamilton is a perfectly functional no frills low budget place to stay. It was well located for my visit - a social meet up with old colleagues. Somewhat tired and frayed around the edges, but it served it’s purpose as a place to sleep.
I had a shared toilet, it wasn’t the cleanest and lacked toilet paper from late Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon.
It was in close proximity to the train station
The bed was broken, mattress was lumpy, to the fact I obtained neck injury and haven't been able move properly for 6 days after, sheets where unpressed looked like just taken out of the washing machine , the walls were filthy, no net curtains so had to keep main curtains closed for the whole stay, didn't feel safe due to having the fire escape and escape ladder in plain sight , the room and hall way smelt of stale cigarette smoke, the hairdryer when used smelt like illicit drugs, hot water didn't come through, unsafe wiring around the t.v area, the lamp was an old desk lamp on a rickety table, the main light was an old 1980s lampshade that didn't even fit correctly and had to be angled, the poor lighting in a shower area, so was dangerous and not compliant, whilst the light was on the extractor fan had to be on at the same time no optional kill switch of which the smell of tabaco flowed through, the beside cabinet was big and cumbersome and hit my head several times through out the next. The shampoo was hand sanitizer Shared toilet is a bad idea, and other guests decided to deficate everywhere but the toilet! And to finish it all off guest staying had no respect slamming doors all hours of the night, The only positive was it was close to the train station,Was supposed to be a get away from London for couple of days because of a traumatic year weve had, ended up feeling worst than we 1st felt... and so had to have another break to get over this nightmare of what should of been a simple stay, I expected it from my travels to places where this could be expected but not in a hotel such as the kepple head... Even the staff amitted to the faults, and said nobody should be staying in those conditions... but no offer of any sort of compensation was offered! Rating out of 10 a flatline 0 no higher.
Closeness to train and ferry
Shower wouldn't stay one temperature. Kept going boiling hot to freezing cold.
Location and bed
Hair all over the bathroom floor as it had not been hovered
Very close to bus and train station, quiet at night.
Perfect for stay overnight but room was tiny and very basic.
The room was quite large, very warm, clean and comfortable. It was also surprisingly quiet considering we were above a pub.We were there to visit the historic dockyard and museums so the location was excellent and within very easy walking distance of everything, including dockyard, all transport links, shops and restaurants. We had views over the harbour and HMS Warrior from the room. Breakfast was good (served at the Keppel Hotel next door) and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Could really do with a refurbishment; new bathroom, mattress and a coat of paint although it was not something that really bothered us and we felt it was good value for the price paid.
Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast selection in the morning. Can't fault the value.
Clean room! Good service in bar! Excellent breakfast!
Washing basin room 1- very slow to drain!
The bar was great. A nice atmosphere and welcoming.
The room was uncomfortably cold!Bathroom floor covered in hairs!Lots of mould on the ceiling.
The view was amazing
The bed was uncomfortable and the duvet was too heavy
