    Cons -

    • We were not told breakfast ends at 10 and that we had to vacate the parking at 11. the lady was very unhelpful and frankly did not care that we missed breakfast by 10 minutes, she would not even make us a coffee. very unpleasant end to the stay.
    • Very small rooms with such uncomfortable beds that we checked out a day early as we couldn't stand the thought of a third sleepless night. The clerk said he would ask the owners for a refund which we have now received. Thank youTinned tomatoes with breakfast!!!? Really? For a "boutique" hotel this was a very disappointing, tired looking place
    • Room old, cramped, dirty & old windows, mold in bathroom, cracks in walls, no place to put luggage, stuffy, icky carpet

It was very close to the bus stop.

The air conditioner wasn’t exactly operational and made noise when I tried to turn it on. I used the fan which worked. There were no USB ports to charge electronics. I couldn’t eat dinner in my room. The front desk attendant was nice and gave me a plate and glass of ice.

    1) How large the room was, 2) the staff-friendly & helpful, 3) location, 4) breakfast

The carpeting was in bad shape-either badly faded or wine spills. The window coverings could use updating & repair. No electrical outlets in the bathroom.

Wonderful old hotel with nice linens, fluffy towels and everything we needed. Fantastic breakfast. Extremely helpful staff. Just a few steps from the train station and about the same distance from the Portsmouth Historical Dockside.

Can’t really think of anything except we wish we could have stayed longer.

Great location. Right beside the Portsmouth Harbour train station.Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is just a 2 minute walk. Well worth visitingI was even able to walk from the Cruise Ship Terminal to the hotel.Excellent breakfast. I liked the kippers.Friendly and helpful staff

    Everything was great

The bathroom looked to be newly renovated and was kept very clean. The location was convenient to attractions on the waterfront and next to the taxi queue and train station

The carpet in the room was very old, faded and had a burn mark from an iron. The room was not air conditioned and felt tired.

    Staff. Location. breakfast

No air con but there was a fan provided. Just can't sleep with a noisy fan. Mattress uncomfortable.

Room 15 was huge with a huge bathroom. We were not expecting a hot breakfast so it was a pleasant surprise.

The decore has a lot of mirrors which is not my taste but might be appealing to others.

Excellent staff and amazing location! The staff were all so incredibly helpful in meeting all of our needs. The location was absolutely perfect for touring the Navy Shipyards. The room had everything we needed.Tons of restaurants near by and a little convenience store too.

    Breakfast was fine.

The hotel looks more like a boarding house from the exterior. Old, small rooms, overpriced for what it is but it has a good location for waterfront access.

    8AnnePosted on: 6-28-2025

Great location. Nice breakfast included. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff who helped us store our bicycles safely overnight.

Bathroom was pretty small. No A/C.

    10AngelaPosted on: 6-21-2025

Room was nice and comfy. Breakfast was good and staff was very nice. I loved the staff, the location to shops and historic docs, and public transportation. Large, quick, elevator.

Very tidy and well kept hotel with friendly staff

The mattress was on the firm side but I prefer a soft mattress, personal preference

    10AndrewPosted on: 5-27-2025

Location. My main aim was to see the D Day Museum because my father took a LCT in that day. Next morning all the guests at breakfast seemed to be German. Very friendly, wanted to know why I was in Portsmouth. Like an episode of Fawlty Towers - I tried not to mention the recent unpleasantness. I said I was there because I was a Napoleonic Wars buff which meant I had to hastily remember some details from those times.

Great location across Harbor station, near Gunwhurf malls, etc.; fast & effective checkin, lift, large room, good bed, good bathroom/shower; good breakfast (included), easy check out.

    Too short a stay:)
