It is very well located for a visit to the Naval Museum and is excellent value for money. The food was very good.

Atmosphere in the bar is a wee bit stark.

    Location and pool

Put into a refurb area which we were not advised prior to booking was happening on the whole 2nd floor. Drilling/sawing noises . Window didn’t close. Photo of room on booking.com of blue rooms were not the offered room must of had the older red/wood rooms non refurbed rooms

    10KimikoPosted on: 2-18-2026

Atmosphere and hospitality. We stayed on the pancake day and the restaurant served pancakes for breakfast.

    9SevernPosted on: 2-18-2026

The pool & sauns, friendly staff ,good breakfast choice of bar or restaurant both good meals room clean & comfy with drinks making facility. location also great for maritime musuem

Parking when we arrived howerever we were advised to check next day & we got a free spot. Jacuzzi not working . Also some corridors were stripped ready to decorate which is a job I appreciate needs doing but I think if there was a sign on reception it would not have been a shock.

Room was lovely and so was the breakfast a lovely stay for 1 night.

Its an old building but the decor in the hallways looks very messy.

The accommodation was lovely, clean and has been recently refurbished. All staff are very friendly and appear to be happy and smiley, always making us feel welcome. The food was great, both breakfast and dinner, plenty of choice and very tasty. Overall no complaints. We even got veterans discount on accommodation, food and drink!

Very high standard accessible bedroom with many extras. The breakfast choices were many and varied. Brilliant staff couldn't have been more helpful. Within 10 minutes walk of the harbour even for me as I cannot walk fast. Every facility on hand and although it is the Maritime Club, all sorts of people were there from various walks of life. Everyone was very friendly including some from the services where English is not their language, we still managed to communicate.

They are in the middle of renovations so some of the corridors were a little neglected, this is not a complaint just an observation. The rooms themselves were very good.

    9AnitaPosted on: 2-15-2026

The staff were friendly approachable and very polite. Breakfast was delicious and quickly refilled. The staff that attended the rooms were amazing and professional. Within walking distance of the station shops and dock lands museum.

    Location

The public areas in the west wing were in a very dilapidated condition carpets were worn and walls needed plastering to cover cracks and holes. Loose electrical wires hung from wall and ceiling. Stairways were covered in dust and plaster that had fallen off the walls.

    Everything

Rooms could do with redecorating, but everything was fine and clean. Pillows were a bit hard for me, but that's just my preference

    6AmyPosted on: 2-10-2026

We loved that it was close to where we needed to go and the price for 2 nights was excellent. Rooms clean and tidy. Lovely, quiet and clean atmosphere as you walk into the hotel.

The pillows were the worst we’ve ever had from a hotel. I know it doesn’t sound like much but they were almost like a bean bag feeling and pretty much empty, even sleeping with two pillows it was like we were still laying flat. As good as the location is, a room at the front of the hotel wasn’t great as it’s on a very busy main road and it’s noisy at night.

    Staff and facilities

Some areas were not decorated and tired looking. Could of done with a clean (skirting boards, cobwebs etc)

    8LynnePosted on: 2-9-2026

    Location good, quiet in hotel.

Our room was a bit hot.
