Friendly staff, good service, good food , comfortable bed

Extra decadent room with hot tub badly in need of refurbishing, we stayed in this room about 4 years ago when it was fresh.

Terrific facility with a great restaurant and location. Staff was also great!

Superb hotel, excellent facilities, room really well equipped and lovely bathroom. Breakfast absolutely superb and staff really friendly and attentive.

Quiet, nice walk to town, nice products, free mini bar, friendly staff, late check out and early check in.

I thought the Rocpool restaurant was onsite

Lovely decor, large sumptuous room, complimentary drinks, snacks. Excellent service with friendly staff. Great location.

Staff were very efficient and friendly. The location, hot tub, balcony, breakfast and hotel public areas were great.

Unfortunately, our ‘extra decadent’ room did not live up to our expectations. We have stayed in a few 5 star hotels, but this fell short. Behind bed was very dusty and had red splatters up the wall (hotel told us after they were waiting for a decorator). The hot tub was lovely as was the area outside, but again above the outside door was pretty filthy (forgot to take photos) & needed a good power wash.

Spacious attractive room with excellent bathroom. Complimentary snacks. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff.

Only heavyweight duvets available. We had to ditch the duvet and sleep under the cover.

Breakfasts were excellent with great choices. All staff were first class.

Because our home is rural, we're not used to traffic noise. If we'd had a room at the other side of the hotel then there would have been no noise.

Nice building. Clean, friendly staff. Upgraded our room to hottub.

Room had a step down from the bed area to the bathroom, had to take extra care not to trip or fall.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean.

Lily was lovely and the other staff great. The bed was really comfy. Bathroom huge. bath and shower good.

No door on toilet (by design) which is fine if you're okay with that but we didn't like it.

No proper restaurant save for fast food.The Rocpool restaurant advertised apparently has no connection to the hotel and is a 15 min walk away - a wee bit misleading

Lovely sized room with robes and a comfy bed. We also had a spa outside which we used.

There wasn’t an option to have cappuccino or flat white style coffees for breakfast which is the first time we had experienced that. The breakfast itself was lovely.

Rooms were really comfortable and staff were so lovely and looked after us really well.

The area wasn’t particularly nice so best for an overnight stop maybe rather than a week. But it really is a lovely little hotel.

Location was walking distance to city centre and close to what we wished to see.Breakfast was rather good and offered good choices.

not so much for me , but would benefit from lift to reach bedroom level in case of disabilities.

Great room and fantastic breakfast. Just be careful of you want to dine there, you must order before 8 pm. No service after that hour.

They had bottles of water in reception, we picked up one as we had just arrived from the airport. Shocked to be charged for water, considering the price of the rooms. If it was for sale then it should be displayed as such. Most hotels where we have stayed offer drinks or water on arrival!

Good location

What the hotel shows in photos and what we actually got do not match a 5 star experience at all. The property is run down, the bathroom lighting was partially broken, and there were issues with the toilet. The advertised hot tub of the balcony was another disappointment – it was located in the yard under the stairs.

Lovely boutique hotel, our room was beautiful. Great bathroom. Breakfast was lovely.

Irritating noise in the room, and when we raised with night manager the issue was ignored at the time. Also, inexplicably, the night porter was vacuum cleaning communal areas in the proximity of our room after 11pm, also this issue was ignored when we complained about at the time. Unwillingness of those with authority to either own or discuss hotel’s failings the following morning, and no follow up by hotel even though our contact details were left for subsequent contact with us by the hotel’s management.
