- The lounge and dining room were very cold. Shame as it would have been nice to relax in the lounge area after our meal. Paper thin walls between bedrooms. Rooms not very spacious.

A perfect weekend in the far north! Lovely accommodation and food and very well looked after by excellent staff. Thoroughly excellent! An iconic Highland Hotel.
Lovely trip down from Tongue on a one lane road by a loch.Impressive hotel.Very welcoming and lovely lounge rooms.Bedroom looked out to the lake. Warm and comfortable.
Shower in the bath.
Nice room, good location, excellent food, great staff.
A little hidden gem! Great remote location with exceptional staff. Great food and lovely traditional old Scottish feel throughout the accommodation.
Location is excellent. The food is really good.
TV did not have any channels and the electric radiator did not work but they provided us with another one. This is expensive for the quality of the accommodation.
The remote location was lovely, very peaceful, next to a stream with misty mornings. The staff worked very hard, long hours and always had a smile on their faces. We were told that one of them had worked 100 hrs that week. The food was very good, the bed very comfy, a homely atmosphere with an open fire.
The bedroom was not warm. If there had been more staff the standards would have been higher, as it was the essentials were very good.
Warm welcome, but not fussy. Superb real food. Tasteful Scottish country house decor.
The fact that, as all over Scotland, the hotel was being run on a skeleton staff, One is aware that a few people are overworked, though it did not affect the service.
The manager was really helpful. I had messed up my booking, and he sorted it out, no problems. The hotel had a really relaxed feel, nice lounges and comfy chairs, and settees. The food was good, Balmoral chicken especially Very accommodating of cyclists
It was a nice place to lay your head, especially in the middle of a storm. Beds were comfortable and shower water pressure was on point. Breakfast and dinner were really nice compliments to the chef.
The room was cold because the electric heater was not working. When staff was notified they stated they would rectify the issue but immediately forgot our request to provide some additional heating. Very disappointed as it was a cold night.
Warm and welcoming. Sheltering from storm Amy with our 2 dogs. Staff were flexible, friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent.

Stayed in self catering cottage for couple of night sheltering from storm Amy. Quiet.
This hotel is in a stunning location, very peaceful. Woke to a couple of amazing sunrises! Room was nice with everything needed, comfy bed and powerful shower. Good choice at breakfast and dinner was fantastic both nights. We only saw one member of staff who was friendly, helpful and did an amazing job covering reception and the restaurant service. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Room didn’t get ‘made up’ but coffee supplies and fresh towels were provided when this was pointed out. Some areas are a bit tired and in need of some TLC, and the outside could benefit from some attention.
We stayed at this hotel on our North Coast 500 tour, we didn't know what to expect but I am pleased to say that the welcome we received from Angelo was excellent, we loved the comfort and decor of the hotel and the food was excellent, probably the best that we had on the route.
We were 3 female travellers and stayed in the cottage - although the living room was comfortable the remainder of the cottage was a little tired and dated and in need of some upgrade
Location was beautiful, but very remote. Accessed by a very long single track road (not best travelled in the dark).Great evening meal and breakfast.
It is an old building and the rooms are getting a little overdue a refurb.
Lovely old hotel in the middle of nowhere. Open fires. Great food. Comfortable lounge areas. Friendly staff.
A bit dated but still comfortable and pleasant.
We loved the charming traditional Scottish decor housed in what is a gorgeous historic building - a step into yesteryear.
It was a shame that the gardens and landscaping has been let go.
