Beautiful old building with updated plumbing and bathrooms. Great location less than a mile from the railway station. Beautiful view of the Firth from our window. A nice mile walk to Glenmorangie Distillery where we were doing research on restoring oyster beds in the Firth. We found the staff delightful!
A bit expensive, but we had great meals and a great stay.
Loveliest place I'd stayed in a long time, opened the door to the beautiful room & said WOW! Nice amenities. Staff extremely professional & friendly, accepting of my Service Dog. Close to a grocery & walks to lovely sunset views. Would stop again!
One of the Seven Dwarves statues was stolen some years ago from the Snow White arrangement!! No real butter at the breakfast.
Location
Bedding. King size bed had an uncomfortable bar down the middle. Morning coffee in the dining room was a machine instead of fresh brood.
Traditional decor , big rooms
No sea view although we booked it , home bargains is in the way !
The location and the atmosphere were very nice
The room was a bit outdated and floors were squeaky
This is a hotel with old fashioned charm, helpful friendly staff and offers very good value for money. Our room was big, well decorated and clean. Some of the bathroom fittings could be upgraded but overall we had a very pleasant, comfortable stay.
Clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff, nice quiet location. Restaurant and bar has great food and good selection of drinks.
It was warm and comfortable . Breakfast was freshly cooked but a little light on content. Room had a huge bed which was very comfortable. The architecture was pleasing to see
Room had very broken hair dryer in the bathroom, a very poor water supply and for two of us we had only 1 towel. Entrance could be more welcoming and cleaner. Seagull droppings all over the steps and a small dustbin did not look very good at all
The property looked interesting and different
The showers had no pressure, when speaking to staff about it they responded “yeah we had someone else complain about that”. The food was excessively expensive for what you paid. The rooms smelt almost like mould and were rather dusty
The restaurant area was nice, old and kitch. The room itself was large and had a sofa which was ideal for us. Our baby had a cot set up and there were high chairs for his use.
The room was very hot and it was hard to figure out how to turn it down. The shower didn't have a lot of pressure.
Room fine, very clean and quite comfortable. Do wish hotels would provide firmer beds and definitely pillows, but this is a personal issue perhaps. Staff were generally very pleasant apart perhaps from receptionist when we arrived who was at best indifferent. Staff very good with our small dog, in general, and he loves people making a fuss, so a real plus.
Bath and shower inside wide bath rather awkward as shower curtain had only partial coverage. A gripping handle would be helpful in stepping into and out of bath, given its shape as age does affect agility!Gravel drive a bit noisy if trying to have a lie-in, but this is not a serious quibble. We did find the receptionist rather indifferent/unhelpful on the day we arrived. It seemed rather too much trouble to give us any idea of breakfast times, tell us when the front door would be locked etc. but maybe she had not had a good day.
Room size
Even though the bathroom was a good size, the shower had no pressure, so the water just dribbled out. Some of the staff were a little bit dower
Staff friendly rooms big clean and comfortable
Room size good.
Toilet appliances were all poor. Very little flow from shower and bracket holding handset cracked leading to poor support. Toilet ancient and handle stiff. Multiple flushes needed. Washbasin taps needed replaced as they were very stiff and water fliw would come on suddenly.
It was pleasant and quiet
A bit dated but it’s an old building and everything was clean
Room was a small double, but had all tthe necessary tea, coffee facilities etc. so was well appointed. Bathroom was well appointed with soap, shampoo etc. Food was well prepared and cooked at dinner, may be slightly highly priced, personal opinion. Breakvfast was included in the room rate and was help yourself continental buffet with cooked breakfast to order. Cooked breafast options were good and cooke to perfection. Best poached eggs I ahve had in a long time.
Not really anything springs to mind.
