Pros +
- It's a nice old building creaky building that was lovely inside and the staff no matter what their role was were all very friendly.
- Good breakfast. Great location.
- The starter for my meal was fantastic. We ordered the prawn glory. Really wonderful. The bed was really comfortable.
Cons -
- Am room was comfortable especially the bed had a great sleep. Room just need a little refurbished.
- Bar meals could have been offered in afternoon and evenings.
- On arrival, the lady on the front desk was not very welcoming. We had tried to book dinner earlier in the year, only to be told this wasn’t possible. Then on arrival, we were told that booking was possible as of last week. They were now full. The lady serving us did not seem in anyway bothered by the fact we what booked this hotel purely for eating in their restaurant as this is something my partner was really keen to do. He has eaten there before and really enjoyed it. I also then asked about the football, which was advertised as being on in the bar area. We checked this on arrival. Went down for kick off, ordered drinks, only to be told the match wouldn’t be going on. Despite being advertised everywhere. Finally, our meal that night. Starters were wonderful. But my mail of mussels was awful. So overcooked it was awful. It was taken off the bill, but really disappointed that my meal ended at that point.

An excellent stay in the Cairngorm. Room was compact but exactly what we needed for our one night stay. Staff were superb - efficient and up for a bit of banter. Very sensible last check out time. Breakfast was excellent - so nice to see Eggs Benedict on the menu as an alternative to the standard Full Scottish. Free parking at the front of the hotel. Hotel location is ideal, right in the heart of Aviemore and literally across the road from the railway station. Great to see craft beers from the new Uile-bheist brewery in Inverness on tap in the hotel bar.
Nothing to mention, it was all good!
Cozy and friendly staff
Our room was a bit noisy at times as close to the fire door.
Location is very central in Aviemore with bus and train links just outside the hotel
The lack of gluten free food was disappointing. Gluten free is not a life choice for people who are celiac or gluten intolerant it is a necessity.
- The room was very clean and the bed comfy.- The staff were all wonderful and very friendly. My particular compliments to Charlie, Claire, & the breakfast staff for having been so helpful and welcoming, making this stay feel like a true holiday.- The hotel's location made it easy for the use of public transportation such as buses and the train.- The hotel's overall décor and atmosphere were an absolute treat.- The hotel's restaurant and bar were of very good quality.
- Bathroom mirror showed sign of age and ware. Was still fine to use. This is more of a nitpick.- The lack of sound isolation regarding the noise from the bar had been made aware to me before arrival so that wasn't an issue. However, the sound isolation of the door to the hallway could be improved.
Great location right opposite train station. Comfortable clean room, lovely fresh food and welcoming bar
All good
Lovely homely atmosphere, great staff and great food 1
The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable; unfortunately, there was little else about our stay that we enjoyed.
While the hotel itself was very nice and the room was comfortable, the behaviour of the staff significantly detracted from our experience. We had a meal booked on the Saturday, however the staff were unwelcoming and openly rude to the point that we felt uncomfortable and left before ordering food.It is difficult to understand how someone working in a customer-facing role could display such poor standards of service. Sadly, this place appears to have gone downhill, and based on our experience I would not recommend it.
Comfortable and cosy roomLovely breakfast Good choice on menu
Difficult to say .
Great location, fantastic breakfast, and nice bar
Wish there was shampoo along with body wash in the bathroom, but an employee was able to find some for us.
Staff were all super friendly and helpful. We were in a budget room and were informed in advance that as we were above the bar, there may be some noise but we didn't experience any noise.
Nothing to dislike.
Helpful staff, comfortable room, great breakfast, excellent location. Hotel with character.
Bigger towel rail would have been great. Or smaller towels! They are massive!
Cosy, comfortable and great location. Friendly, efficient staff
Friendly staff, good food and entertainment
Room was a bit small
Lovely area, stunning reception and amazing staff
Rooms definitely dont come anywhere near pictures, the space between the wall and bed was about the same as Easyjets leg room, barely anything! Bathroom was nothing like the pictures either, floor was gritty as if forgotten to be hoovered and stains all over bathroom. Lights were broken too, took a full minute of it flickering before it came on properly
Breakfast was lovely. Bar was great.
Evening dinner was excellent in terms of quality of food & attentiveness of staff. However it was a long wait to get in. Very bizarre that you can't book a time as a hotel guest.
Centre of village and very clean and bed comfortable.
Food wasn’t as nice as on previous visits.
Good location opposite the station Nice breakfast and pleasant staff
Small room, tiny bathroom, tiny tv
