Room clean and functional.Staff on breakfast duty very helpful.Evening meal very nice and presented well.

Parking extremely limited.Valentines “special “ menu main course choices disappointing.Time limit imposed on table time at evening dinner despite restaurant being only half full.Valentines theme consisted of a bowl of heart shape chocolates at the front door. (On a previous stay at Valentine’s, prosecco was offered upon arrival)

The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. We were disappointed by the lack of a single bed in our family room, a fold out bed for our 10 year old son and while they had no other beds they did offer extra duvets to make as comfortable as possible for him.Dinner was lovely and breakfast fine while no coffee machine was a bit disappointing especially as they replaced with a flask.

Lack of a proper bed for 10 yr old to sleep on especially given we spent a lot on accommodation. Facilities at breakfast no freshly made coffee etc.

It’s a classic Scottish Inn. Panelled Walls, Tartan, Fires, great food. It’s exactly what we were looking for on our overnight winter stay, travelling north. It’s brilliant, ever so slightly tired around the edges, and the food was exceptional.

Water pressure in shower wasn’t great (not complaining but needed to put something).

We and our dog were made to feel very welcome. We’d booked a Garden Room and that was perfect.

Excellent choice of breakfasts.Dog friendly.Plenty of walks and amenities nearby.

    Nothing to add

Great staff and service. Really large penthouse rooms were nice and would have been great to relax for a few days with views of the mountains, we were unfortunately tired and just in a nights pitstop. Good breakfast and very nice staff for service as well.

No lifts, stairs all the way. It’s a little far from any shops or town centres, which isn’t fair to complain about but make sure you have everything you need before you get there.

    Good location, service, and breakfast.

Room very small for a double, it felt cramped, and was laid out like a student hall/dormitory.The bathroom extractor fan didn't work, so the room was very humid. No curtains, only a blind.Mattress very soft.Walls are paper thin, you hear everything. Most annoyingly, on a Friday night they called last orders at the bar at 930pm and on Saturday at 10pm, despite the bar being busy. This is a very unusual policy and made us feel unwelcome. Part of the experience of a Scottish hotel is to enjoy the atmosphere of a bar and to relax and enjoy the surroundings after dinner.

Excellent location and very welcoming staff and a lovely breakfast.

Mattress could have been comfier a double instead of 2 singles put together

Flexible with room where we wanted one with bath. Bar with wood fire was great. Staff were very attentive. Food was exceptional.

Great location and helpful, friendly staff.

Sadly, I had to leave before breakfast was served on Saturday morning. I’m sure it’d have been lovely though.

Everything to be honest, the room was wonderful and spacious. Bed was comfortable and loved the bath in the room (we stayed in a suite). As soon as we arrived Staff were friendly and helpful straight off the bat. Breakfast was nice and even offered our dog Rio a nice sausage treat, the lovely lady that served us breakfast was extremely pleasant and very attentive.

    7AshleighPosted on: 1-26-2026

Breakfast was fantastic, the village is beautiful, the staff were pleasant. Inclusive toiletries are lovely, towels and bedding clean

Pain peeling from bathroom window cleanliness not as I’d expect for such a place, things like dusty bath, marks on roller blind in bathroom. Also the view from bathroom window was an outside wall of the building, literally a few inches from the window. Would have been better not to have the window. We just closed the blind

    Staff, location and food.

One small seat in room, when lobby was busy only place for us to sit and relax was the bed, could've done with couple of comfortable chairs in the room.

Dinner was great. Evening staff at restaurant was great. Love the location. Quiet. Great area to stay in. Loved the train station. Love the trails nearby.

The rooms were not clean. The bathroom toilet kept running all night. No fan or way to cool off. No fridge. Breakfast wasn’t good and staff (support) was not friendly. Main server (older lady) was but other girls there were not nice. Also in the room the curtains are so old and had a large spider in them. Carpet had stains.

Location Staff Good breakfast Good sized rooms

A little chilly in the lounge at night TV not working great

There was limited parking spaces. The restaurant service at night was very slow.
