- The breakfast was great The dinner was not great. It was a nice big portion, but very dried out
- do not expect this is a hotel. this is a sort of a hostel with in-room bathroom. very simple room and room amenities. no elevator. there is no restaurant, just a wet bar in the hotel. hotel is full of children who came for biking and hiking.
- The kitchen for self caterring is ordinary. The breakfast too. Fruits would have been appreciated.

The room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was good. We were able to leave the windows open to keep it cool in the room. Being able to buy the breakfast option in the morning was a really nice bonus. It was pretty basic, but a good way to fuel up for the day and a good value.
Honestly, I did not like a whole lot about the property. If the service was good, then I would probably have given better reviews.
Parking lot was full and I had to walk up the street to park my car. The sign at the parking lot said “no overnight parking.” However I was reassured by the front desk that I should be OK, which I was. But it still made me nervous to park there. And I walked up at least 3 to 4 times that evening, and move my car first thing in the morning. There was no hot water or the hot water would last maybe 2 to 3 minutes. When I bought it to the attention of the front desk, they asked me to wait 20 minutes because they only have one water heater and it’s for the entire facility. It was a nightmare experience.I have allergies, which get worse with hiking or staying outdoors for long period of time. They did not have a fan to provide. If I left the windows open my allergies get worse. When I close the windows, it gets hot and stuffy. Unfortunately, the medication does not help a lot when I am outdoors all day. Lastly, the front desk staff, were impolite and unable to understand my concerns. They kept making excuse excuses for why the parking lot was full, and why the water heater was not able to provide for all residents/hosts.
Great beds with warm duvets. Ensuite bathrooms. Plugs and lights above bed. Great breakfast.
The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The public area and bar were nice to use.
It would have been nice to have a luggage rack for our suitcase
Lovely stay for a night. There were several common areas making it easy to find a quiet corner or connect with other travelers. The rooms were also spacious and comfortable. The town was close by just a short was down the hill to the road.
Their room was very clean, the atmosphere was friendly. The location was great.
Good location (short walk down hill to shops) Although outdated decor the rooms are cleanVery helpful staffKitchen great to use and have breakfastBar was good to have drinks and eat our take away pizza and just relaxAvailable free parking
Electric outlets not near bedside (but there are outlets in the room)
Helpful staff, good facilities for hikers, food available
Convenient location
The smell of the room was absolutely disgusting. Bed sheets had stains. No towels included in the price
As a hiker I didn´t need a lot, but the atmosphere and hospitality were really nice and very welcomed. Lot of space in the room, bathroom in the room, lot of shared places with library and very good dinner. I had possibility to ordere packed lunch for the next day hike, so perfect service. All the stuff I met were very nice and helpful I fully recommend and imagine to stay for more than 1 night. It is a nice quiet place in very good location with all you need for comfortable stay.Than you!
Value was really good, especially considering we booked it in a short notice. Comfy beds, clean room, dog-friendly, lovely staff. A lot of communal spaces.
Almost nothing
En suite and location were great. Good to have self catering kitchen
Musty smell in room. Very expensive for what you get.
Quiet and cozy place. Confortable beds and rooms. Everything really clean. I am gonna stay one more night ?
A very welcome bed after a few nights in the tent. My room mates in the dorm were all lovely. The location is just a few minutes walk to the canal/pubs etc. Dinners are available as is breakfast, plus self catering kitchen with free tea/coffee. Would definitely recommend
Clean and hygiene. Near by has restaurants at walkable distance. Had attach washroom to dormitory. Very friendly staff.
We were allocated room at second floor. Hard to carry luggage.
Immaculately clean and cozy room. Staff were so nice and helpful. Great facilities, loved having access to the couches in the lounge area and the bar was great too. Drying room was a godsend for drying out my stuff after a rainy walk into Fort Augustus. Dinner was tasty and they’ve got butteries at breakfast, what more could you want :)
No complaints! Hostel is slightly apart from high street area, but still close enough.
