2 bed cottage, stunning views, peaceful and friendly chatty staff.
Awe inspiring views. Duncan, the manager, saw to our every need or want. The breakfast was included and gourmet. Dinner was an extra fee, but very delicious and very reasonably priced. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage which was newly renovated and pristine. The bathroom was 5 star!! Queen Victoria stayed there exactly 148 years to the day before we did. She had great taste!!
We liked it all.
Waterfront view, warm staff. The hotel is located besides lake with beautiful view. We stayed in self contained cottage heating is perfect and pretty cosy. Staff is warm and welcoming.

Great property right on the Loch! The staff were very helpful and friendly and the accommodation was comfortable and clean. Would recommend!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They consistently welcome everyone warmly.
It would be better to have a seating area for dogs in the same dining room, as we felt excluded in the other room.
The entire stay from the easy early check-in to the quick reservations for dinner facilitated by both Duncan and Sean. Two great staffers that made our stay even better. They’re clearly vested in the comfort and well being of their guest. Our room was large and very comfortable and had the most amazing views. Bed was great. Large wardrobe ensured our clothes n bags etc were put away. The restaurant is great. Breakfast lovely. It’s close to Victoria Falls, Gairloch Falls and Inverewe Gardens. We are already planning a return stay!!!
Honestly….There is nothing to dislike about this loch front hotel.
mr. Duncan at the front desk was very polite. We asked if he could take a couple pictures of us outside in the back of the hotel, and he was very eager and willing. The most comfortable bed of our whole trip.
The staff were extremely nice and welcoming!Rooms are good, location and view are great. We enjoyed the "living room" in the evening hours, with beers and tea.
The hotel uses local water source and they explain this causes low water current in the showers. Manageable and understandable.
Location and views fantastic. Great staff - very friendly and very responsive
Great location on the NC500, by the lake, enough parking and good breakfast
Really old building, could use a refurbishment
View over the lochHelpful staff
Climbing the stairs to the top floor bedroom
Great location and nice staff.
Bar could be relocated to make more of the location.
Staff worked so hard and always provided us with anything we asked for but the room was never serviced in the 3 nights we stayed. Extra cartons of milk and tea were provided but we had to ask for them . Staff were so kind and worked so hard. They seemed to be working 24 hours a day but I gather that was because one staff member had broken a leg .
Bedroom not serviced whilst we were there due to staff shortage.
The hotel is in an amazing location with beautiful views. The food for both dinner and breakfast was good.
The hotel was a little tired and could use some TLC, and it is very expensive for what it is. We got to the hotel for an overnight stay after driving all day, checked in and headed to the bar, only to be told that the hotel did not have any lager whatsoever, they had apparently run out. My husband was not overly impressed but settled for a cider. He had one only to be told when he ordered a second one that they had also now completely run out of cider. The hotel is dog friendly however when checking in they said that the dog would need to stay in the room and could not join us for meals as there were other dogs also staying and those dogs might be in the dining room,so the dog would have to stay in the room, as the owner had recently had two dogs fight in the dining room. Not sure why the other dog owners had preference to bringing their dog to dinner over myself but as it turns out we bumped into the other dog owner outside having a drink and the owner then later said that the dog could in fact come into the dining room as he had seen that the dogs had gotten along. The water is brown, and there are notes in the rooms advising guests if the water pressure is insufficient they should wait half an hour and then try again. The whole experience very much felt like an episode of faulty towers (they even had faulty towers music playing in the dining room).
The historic building directly on the Loch waterfront. Nicely appointed room with a good breakfast.
The lock on the room door was very shakey and would have preferred a breakfast buffet to save time, otherwise quite nice
Beautiful location. Lovely decoration and building.Comfortable room. Polite and friendly staff.
I really wasn’t sure what to expect having read all the polarising and often negative views of this hotel but I was really pleasantly surprised. The location and views are exceptional. We had the four poster room with a stunning view which you can enjoy from chairs overlooking the lake or the bed.We were able to have a nice drink on the tables and chairs outside in their garden too and then had dinner in the dining room which again overlooks the lake.I was worried about the food given reviews but we had a really tasty and filling burger for £16.50 which felt reasonable to me! Breakfast was a full Scottish breakfast which was really tasty and they had other options like eggs Benedict or florentine. No cereals but honestly you didn’t need it!Staff was all really friendly and service was quick. It is perhaps a little faded in places and you can see the building was at one time v grand but obviously must be costly to maintain given its location and age. But generally I thought it was well presented. So to me the price seemed very reasonable given its location. This is a remote place where accommodation IS expensive and very hard to come by so I just think people need to set expectations accordingly.
Great views over the Loch. Lovely old house. The food was very nice, evening meal and breakfast.
The heating in our room didn’t work and it was very cold. I slept in some of my clothes to get and stay warm.
