Staff were very attentive
Bed was not that comfortable; wall socket at desk faulty; bathroom door would not latch without force; the television had two parallel vertical white lines up the centre of the screen.
great room, good service
The friendly staff.I asked to change rooms due to the noise from the generator. The receptionist was most obliging which ensured I had a good sleep
The overpriced restaurant
The staff were exceptional, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The setting was stunning and the room and bed were lovely.
Nothing!
The B&B option is well worth the cost as the breakfast is delicious, and quite affordable. The lounge is very comfortable, and the drinks are decently priced. Only missing a fireplace.
The lounge wasn't staffed the entire time, and the food options were confusing. I thought I could order snacks or sandwiches in the lounge, but could only get bar snacks.
This historic hotel impressed with its large, quiet rooms, comfortable beds, and modern touches like a great shower and an elevator. Ample parking and the serene atmosphere made it an easy and enjoyable place to stay.
While there were no plugs near the bed — everything was hardwired — the nightstand did have a few USB charging ports, which were handy. The only downside was the slow breakfast service, which delayed our start for nearby tours.
Don't stay at this hotel when visiting Scotland some hotels are better to be skipped
Our room was not ready for my family when arriving and very very expensive to what you're getting
It was clean and very well kept. Rooms are large and well appointed
It is far from town and amenities
Is this hotel is spectacular and we absolutely adore it!
We somehow got a king bed that spent three days pulling apart with a big gap in the middle and our backs hurt. There wasn't any other accommodations for us, but I would like to say this is uncommon for this establishment and we absolutely still give it a high rating and every aspect and will continue to go there repeatedly!
It was very clean and the food was great. The staff were very friendly and professional
Checking in and checking out. Bed was comfortable room was well appointed.
Putting better information on the location of the hotel, directions on your website do not direct anyone to the actual hotel. Speaking to other guests they were told it was only 5 minutes walk from the train station we were charged £17:00 a trip for a taxi to town. Easter Charges apparently.
The room was very spacy and the beds were extremely comfortable - even the rollaway bed for our daughter. The location is quiet and beautiful, and the service is very good. Onsite parking is a bonus.
The cooked breakfast wasn’t that great unfortunately. We did have to ask for eggs to be recooked as the hard boiled eggs were soft on both days!
Met by receptionist who was really lovely. She looked after us throughout the evening. All staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Room was fantastic as was the breakfast. Thank you so much for a lovely stay
Excellent location, quiet and peaceful. However, I am disappointed that there is not a proper bar facility. Just a hatch and table service, I like to see what drink is on offer, not choose from a menu.
Beautiful hotel. Found the food to expensive. The breakfast was the worst we have ever had in a hotel of that standard. Sausage inedible. I had the pancakes obviously out of a bag with a piece of bacon that looked grey. Didn’t estbit.
More reasonable prices for the food.
I went to Breakfast for 7 10am - i then ordered Eggs benidict, the waitress came back to say there is a 10 minute wait (which is fine) then at 7 35am she then comes back to tell me they have nothing to make Eggs Benidict, for a Macdoanld hotel very disappointing indeed, so i had no breakfast.
The Hot water was off so i had to wash at the sink , so no shower!
Breakfast was lovely. No creme fraiche for pancakes both mornings.Room was so quiet.Lots of parking spaces.
Shower wasn't very powerful . Low water pressure on cold tap .
I liked the lounge area spacious and comfortable
That the shower is absolutely useless for a 4 star hotel not enough milk for a single person yo use
The welcome was really nice on check in. The room Was nice and comfortable. The location and parking are very good.
I was disappointed with Breakfast, I didn't want the full breakfast as there are some items I don't eat so I asked for Sausage, Bacon & Eggs and as you will see from the photo below I got one sausage, one bacon and one egg. I thought as I wasn't having all the other items I would have got at lease two of each.
