About
In 20 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens and woodland, on the shores of the Beauly Firth near Inverness, this 17th-century Scottish mansion is now a luxurious 4-star country house hotel. Free parking is available at this hotel, and there are Tesla and non-Tesla electric car charging points on-site. Rich in historic character and traditional charm, parts of the Bunchrew House Hotel date back to 1505. With dark-wood paneling and real log fireplaces at both ends of the room, the Drawing Room is a warm cozy place to relax. Each room with attached bathroom is individually decorated with its own unique character and the rooms are named after local places and Scottish clans associated with the house. All rooms have TVs and fridges, with fresh milk supplied daily. With fabulous views over the Beauly Firth to the mountains beyond, the wood-paneled restaurant has received 2 AA Rosettes for the quality of its cuisine. The Cocktail Bar looks out onto the hotel’s magnificent gardens and offers a range of drinks, including fine malt whiskeys.

Cons -
- Pricey.
- Our room was VERY outdated and blowdryer didn't even work. Could only get reception downstairs in the drawing room.
- It’s far away from Inverness. I appreciated that and it was what I was searching for.. but that’s the only thing I can think of. It was quite a perfect stay.

Location, history and great customer service.
What not to like! The northern lights, a giant tub, and the fanciest breakfast. Ten out of 10!!
The grounds are so beautiful. The sunrise over the water is a highlight. Loved the restaurant and the cozy bar. The staff is very accomodating, we had an issue with our room and they moved us right away to a better room.
The common areas are a little tired for the price.
Super quiet and peaceful. Foods is super!!
The grass and trees!
Location, dining hall, bar area, green area around the property
The room was dated. It was old, bathroom was old. We asked to change rooms but couldn’t.
The building and surroundings are stunning! The breakfast options are all made to order and absolutely wonderful! We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant our first night and the quality of meal was superb! The bar has a nice selection of whiskey and cocktails - lovely environment for a dram in the evening. The superior rooms are quite spacious.
Water temp and pressure in the bath was inconsistent. Housekeeping was also disappointing. Experienced lengthy waits for taxis to/from the center of town.
Very pleasant stay, with superb environment and comfortable and well appointed rooms. Breakfast was very nice with an authentic feel, staff treating you like family. Would visit again in a minute!
Restaurant, exceptionally good food, fine dining
Bathroom very modest, doesn’t match with the rest of the room
Beautiful grounds , such lovely staff , fab restaurant etc etc
Unable to open bedroom window which made for a very warm night ..
Really charming place! Perfect in each and every aspect- design, service, cleanliness, surroundings, garden, atmosphere!!

Beautiful old estate with all the charm. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. Our room was comfortable. Lovely grounds for a stroll or relaxing. The food was very good and service was excellent. Just a short drive to Inverness. Highly recommend for old world charm!
