Pros +
- Spacious rooms, good breakfast. Also nice they had a drying cabinet to dry our wet motorcycle gear in.
- Location, staff, room size, comfortable bed
- Check in was easy, rooms were clean and staff very friendly. It was just what we expected.
Cons -
- the bathroom was not very clean. The seals around the bath and faucets looked a bit filthy. Mold was present on the walls and ceiling. Maybe an active ventilation system would help, as this was not present in the bathroom.
- Warm was room, a fan to circulate air would be appreciated
- Nothing to dislike only comment and it’s not a negative comment was that due to perhaps some constraints resource constraints on their side we were offered available timeslots for breakfast which is sort of a first for us. There’s no problem and we were able to adjust our schedule to that again not a negative just an unusual detail in our stay.

Stayed for one night with my wife and son to ride the Jacobite train the next day and loved it. The rooms looked as if they were recently renovated. Very comfortable, cozy, clean and quiet. Had access to the courtyard from the room which was really nice. The Silly Goose restaurant attached to the hotel was amazing! We had dinner and breakfast, and the food was absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend anyone staying at the Lime Tree to have dinner and breakfast at the Silly Goose!! If ever in Fort William again I will definitely book another stay at the Lime Tree Hotel, hopefully more than one night. Overall great experience!
The location was excellent for exploring Fort William, Glencoe, and Ben Nevis. There are plenty of dinner options in town and nearby shopping if needed. The room was well appointed and clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were good.
Location and breakfast. Room was good too.
This is a good hotel in Fort William. Our room had a nice view of the Loch. free parking!
Beautiful location and views and character of the building. Staff wonderful and the restaurant was the best food we ate in Scotland
Excellent location. Very clean up to date room. Staff helpful and friendly
This hotel lived up to all expectations maybe even exceeding it. The location was exceptional right at the south end of town a five minute walk to the very center of town the pubs, the restaurants and a short walk. A little further to the train station facility was clean and neat. Helpful staff helped us with making some adjustments to the three rooms that we had booked And appreciated the on-site parking that we were provided highly recommend staying at lime tree.

The hotel is a lovely old inn, updated and decorated very nicely. The food was excellent, and the staff was kind and helpful. The location was great, just at the end of the city center. The drying room was a nice touch, as we had clothes and shoes that were wet when we arrived.
The beds were a little soft for our preference, but the linens were nice.
Well located, good breakfast, friendly staff
No elevators - it requires a real effort to haul your luggage, room decor not very tasteful
It's a lovely hotel on the water! The patio was great to have a cocktail or nitecap. The staff is absolutely wonderful especially the night woman at the front desk and our morning waitress. We didn't have dinner in The Silly Goose as the chef had a kitchen accident, but we did have breakfast and that was mediocre. First time trying blood pudding as our waitress suggested and I'm so glad/proud I did as it was delish!
More comfortable beds and pillows, and the outdoor furniture wasn't comfortable as it's a beautiful place to relax with the garden and harbor view!I had to ask for a fan at the front desk, it was so hot in the hallway and in our room. The bathroom mirror, although magnified, is simply too small boo because I love the old schoolness of it!
Beautiful lobby and dining room.
Carpet could be changed out. The rooms in the booking pictures are more updated than the room we were assigned. Parking is minimal.
Beautiful garden at the front of the hotel. Clean room, nice breakfast.
Our room was below grade next to the street. As the hotel has no air conditioning we really needed to open the windows but needed to close them overnight due to security as someone on the street could easily climb in. Also we'd booked dinner at their restaurant Monday evening but when we showed up for dinner they told us the restaurant was closed - why didn't the staff tell us earlier?
The property was amazing!! Perfect location with a gorgeous view. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were spotless and very nice. Beds were incredibly comfortable. Would absolutely stay again.
Dinner menu creative, dishes well prepared. Service staff attentiveRoom was spacious and clean and comfortable
Breakfast......no a la carte cooked items. Such as scrambled eggs, side of bacon
It was in a perfect location opposite the water and it looked good from a distance.
As we walked to front door I noticed dead planter boxes on the windowsills and it was a bit dingy inside. The desk/reception area was quite cluttered. The room looked good for a start but the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The towels were grey rather than white.
Great location close to the walking district with lots of choices for food. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the loch, which was nice. Breakfast was adequate with a choice of 3 different hot cook-to-order meals.
Room was up 2 flights of twisting stairs, rather difficult to get luggage up and I am a fit person. Not enough parking and difficult to get out of if you park in the upper lot. Bathroom needs some ventilation system as the room gets completely steamed up during a shower. The only window is in the slanted roof, so can't open it when its raining. No AC, which is typical for the area.
The location.
Breakfast was quite limited. Bad smell in the room.
