Great location. Very quiet overlooking ghe Sound of Mull, and very close for the ferry.Great food cooked to order.Peter runs West Coast Wildlife Tours and is a brilliant guide for seeing and photographing wildlife in the area.

Lovely write up about amenities, and feedback given, good breakfast and great coffee

Booking .com, stated distance but a few miles away, yes as crow flies, but not in reality, 2 hours and a ferry crossing to get there, so was exhausted when arrived, straight to bed

Great location, fab room with huge ensuite, lovely breakfast with plenty of choice, friendly staff!

    It was all great

Location splendid if one can be allocated the rooms at the front of the building the views are very good but it seems if one goes through this particular booking method and are allocated the room at the rear, a view is non-existent but the facilities are the same , good , so try for the front room

I suppose if one could dine in the evening at the hotel it would be slightly better but there is an excellent restaurant almost alongside and so has the breakfast is very good the combination works

A very friendly welcome, and a superb location overlooking the Sound of Mull - good view of a golden eagle in the first 15 minutes was stunning. Excellent place to visit and hope to go again

The owners were lovely hosts, they were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Our room had a nice big bathroom and a very comfy bed. The food was hearty, tasty and locally sourced. Dining times were well organised, we gave our orders and when we would be ready to eat, the food was perfectly cooked and bang on time. It made dinner and breakfast really easy and convenient. It also has beautiful views!

There was no hair conditioner, but really I should have brought my own!

Still a few jobs to finish from the refurbishment

This small family-run inn was one of our favourite places to stay during our two-week trip in Scotland. The house is situated on a beautiful peninsula with a lovely view and a “getting away from it all” feel. The interior has been lovingly renovated with creative touches using natural materials — e.g., our room had a woven jute toilet-paper holder and a spalted-birch beam across the ceiling — and guests have ample common space in the well stocked breakfast room and lounge. The hands-on owners were very warm and hospitable and the breakfast was superb.

We liked everything and wish we had had time to stay longer.

Renovated since our last visit and beautifully so. The bed was really comfortable, and we wished we had booked a longer stay.

The location of the hotel is lovely, right on the Sound of Mull. We could sit on the bed in our room and enjoy the gorgeous view and ever-changing landscape! Our hosts Shaley and Peter were friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the food very much, especially the Bonnie Prince Charlie pizza (great thin crust!) with haggis and venison and the blackberry crumble with oatmeal. It was a pleasure to visit this relatively remote and less travelled part of Scotland.

We had a very enjoyable stay with no problems, no issues.

Hotel and owners were lovely, and the food was fantastic. The room was exceptionally clean, with a great shower and comfortable bed. Facilities in the hotel were excellent. For anybody visiting Lochaline and the surrounding areas, I would highly recommend the Lochaline Hotel. Overall an absolutely wonderful stay.

Nothing, hotel and owners were fantastic.

Nice view from the room onto the Mull Sound, very friendly hosts, great breakfast. If you are there on pizza night don’t miss it - compares well with the best New York City pizza.

    Walls are a bit thin.
