- The room is a little tired. Creaky floors and not the best mattress but not terrible. But it did lack a few essentials. No tissue box, no toiletries, no shampoo or.conditioner just a combined hair and body wash. But the shower was great

The staff are amazing, friendly, proffesional and a true credit to the venue
We stayed in the lodge, I would imagine in the summer that this would be an amazing stay. However we were in the middle of high winds. This highlights the openess of the lodges to the elements.Firstly it is a fairly long walk to the lodges from the car park in practically pitch black as there is no lighting on the path, not pleasant in wintery scottish weather. This desperately needs addressed.Once inside the lodge its very apparent that the build is poorly done with icy drafts running along the floor and velux windows poorly fitted that rattle and let wind in. Heavy curtains on all low level windows and the front door do help but the movement of the curtains only emphasised the wind coming in. Although slow to start when the heating kicked in it was warm enough.A wreath, despite being pretty, rattled off the door all night, hot tub lid lifted and slammed into the wall. Very flimsy outdoor furniture moved around the front of the lodge and the bedroom section physically shook through the winds ( visions of ending up like Dorothy from the wizard of oz sprang to mind)The metal wall.ornament rattled above our heads in the bed.I understand the hotel cannot be responsible for the weather but it seemed no preparation had been done to minimise the impact. However the furniture, hot tub lid and wreath were corrected when mentioned to reception next morning. There is no room.service to the lodges, and it is a fair and very dark walk back to the hotel. The bed only has access from one side, the other is against the wall so someone has to either slinky out the bottom or crawl over the other. We stayed thursday and friday night but our beds were not made up, teas, coffee sugar etc not refilled and towels not changed. At £400 for 2 nights I would expect this to be doneThese lodges have the potential to be amazing but our experience was just okThere are plenty of sockets, some with USB ports and the beds are very comfortable, the shower is good with soap being provided.
Well, what a superb trip - the team were wonderful and couldnt do enough to make us welcome and comfortable. We were at a wedding which was covered in exemplary fashion in all areas. Cannot thank the team enough. Loved the gym facilities, relaxing in the pool and internal hot tube.We love our tea and were readily supplied with that, the team eventually put a 2 litre milk carton in the fridge! it was not wasted. The meals we had were lovely, particularly the reception plus all the others and my poached eggs were perfect!!!
When relaxing, the TV would have been really helpful as I like to keep up with current world events through news channels. The only channel available through iPlayer was the BBC ones, the rest on Freeplay were intermittent and non-existent. Did mention it to reception but to no avail, dropped a point for that as everything else was close to brilliant.
It’s nice visually
Not enough lighting on the grounds , walking to a lodge in the pitch dark and rain is not fun , food is below average £6 for 3 poppadoms is ridiculous
Hotel is lovely and well kept. Staff are so friendly and happy to speak with you. Facilities are great and food/breakfast in the restaurant is brilliant. Will definitely be back.
Very quiet and relaxing
There was only one problem. The shower needs resealing.Everytime it was used it spewed all over floor . I did report to reception.on first ekkkvening
The facility and food choices /quality
Power cut this morning meant I couldn’t use the Gym!
Bowfeild is beautiful nd has fantastic facilities. We were there for a wedding and it was great including the wedding coordinator who looked after the weeding party I was party of, Micheal, he was exceptional and I could not thank him enough for helping us with any issues we had he went over and beyond to help and really made the day sun seamlessly.
Lovely pool area, great buffet breakfast.
No health club facilities working full morning of our stay. Whole place felt cold, dull and chilly. Not the cosy country club vibe you expect.
The food in restaurant was good. We had roast beef and roast lamb (although they forgot the roast potatoes).
Tea coffee in room not replenished, TV didn’t work and despite promises made, no one came to fix it. Radiator really noisy when turned on. Like really. It drowned out the sound of the aeroplanes overhead. Hairs on the bed that weren’t ours. Lipstick/nail polish and stains on the curtains. 2 single mattresses shoved together without a double mattress topper, so you sleep on the raised outer edge of adjoining mattresses. Swimming pool really busy with lots of kids. Had to move table in the restaurant to escape the smell of dirty drains, except every time the dishwasher in the bar or kitchen was opened, the drain smell wafted over again … I haven’t ever been so disappointed in a hotel. Photos and marketing have done a great job and I fell for it .. I’m so glad I didn’t pay £260 .. but what I did pay still makes me feel completely overcharged. I’ve paid a lot for hotels, but it’s always been worth it. Until now. Will never come back.
Nice size of venue.
No welcome at reception when we arrived. We had to ask a member of staff who was hoovering if we could be checked in.
The food and drinks were excellent as was the inner calm massage my wife had.
The room was very basic for the price of an overnight stay. The bed was far too hard with hard pillows not a comfy night and the walls are paper thin. I could hear someone next door snoring all night long.
I would totally recommend the lodge. It was a great place to stay with the hot tub, lots of space, very clean, some included snacks, decent smart tv, good view out over the fields and hills. Restaurant was good as well. We had a massage as well which was great. We stayed a Sun & Mon night relatively last minute which may explain it but the price seemed very reasonable for what we got.
It’s not that I didn’t like it but the breakfast was average - not at the same high standard of everything else.
The location was beautiful, everywhere was clean and i loved the decor.
I don’t have an answer for that, we loved everything.
Staff were friendly and helpful
Cleanliness of room stains on carpets, chipped furniture, very noisy from upstairs could hear everything. Not worth the money we paid for room.
