    Pros +

    • Very good value for money, especially given the location for concerts. Nice and warm room, very comfy beds and nice hot showers.

    • Such a beautiful hostel, with picturesque lounges for reading, etc. Very clean, and the staff were friendly. The location is great - peaceful, by the park, but also walking distance from most things. Honestly nicer than many hotels I've been to.

    Cons -

    • This is a very small thing but we have been before and they used to have a tea and coffee making section in the reception that we really appreciated just to have a little tea before bed. But they don’t have it any more and being away for one night we didn’t want to buy milk and tea so that was a little bit disappointing.
    • It's a youth hostel so rooms are basic
    • Check-in time at 4 was inconvenient...It would have been appreciated if there was a place to leave bags prior to that, but reception was empty.

The staff are very kind and welcoming. The hostel is nice overall, with spacious rooms and clean bathrooms.

the price is a bit high for a hostel, and the location is slightly far from the city center (though still manageable).

Great location and amazing building / clean bedding/ quiet and spacious place

Not particularly friendly staff/ USB charges didn’t work/ mirror in the toilet broken/ shower not very hot/ lift only available for staff

    9ArminPosted on: 1-22-2026

The location was pretty nice and tv room view is perfect

The only problem is the lack of lift

    8ColinPosted on: 1-19-2026

great location, fantastic building, friendly staff and other guests; will be planning to stay again for a couple of days when we're back in Glasgow, either on business or to do some more walking

very trivial complaint - there was a very limited selection of cutlery in the self-catering kitchen. A bit more information about local car parking would have been helpful on the hostel web-site, but, again, trivial and easily solved

This was my second stay here. I like the building, especially the lounge area and well equipped kitchen. Great location too.

    7TPosted on: 1-2-2026

It was very clean and has a lot of facilities

The room was a little cold and noisy because there was a gap in the wall with the other room

    8KatePosted on: 1-1-2026

Great location. Large hostel with plenty of facilities. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

    10LauraPosted on: 12-23-2025

Beautiful property, great views, great location, clean and comfortable. Slept so well ! Especially loved the two lounge rooms which were great places to hang out. Kitchen very clean and well equipped.

Bedroom window didn’t open (understand as it is a massive historical sash and case) but extractor fans didn’t work either so room a little stale after family of 4 with showers!

    8SimonPosted on: 12-23-2025

Well situated in Kelvingrove, a quieter option than city centre. A good place to stay for a few days. Near to transport links, shops and eating places.

The beds were a bit small, but understandable as it's a youth hostel.

    9HeatherPosted on: 12-21-2025

Very friendly staff, basic but comfortable and spotlessly clean bedroom, fantastic common areas. Well equipped and clean kitchen, simple but adequate breakfast.

    9KonulPosted on: 12-15-2025

Location was nice, it was clean, private bathroom

It was a little cold inside the room

    9KirstyPosted on: 12-13-2025

I love the homely and safe vibes. The position above the park is spectacular. The staff are so friendly and helpful.

The heater and fan make a really infuriating noise in the ensuite rooms. I feel bleeding the radiators would help...

    9KatiePosted on: 12-11-2025

Friendly staff and easy check in. Room was a good size and comfortable.
