About

With a central Glasgow location, The Pipers’ Tryst Hotel is a unique 4-star restaurant with rooms located at The National Piping Center - the home of Scottish Bagpiping. Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout and as a registered charity, all profits go back into teaching the bagpipes within Scotland and locations worldwide. The Pipers’ Tryst offers bedrooms decorated in a Scottish theme, and feature private bathrooms with a bath and double-headed rainfall shower. Each room includes a flat-screen TV, a desk and tea/coffee making facilities. A full Scottish breakfast is included in the room rate with a choice of tea/coffee, fruit juice, a continental buffet and full cooked options. The award-winning restaurant offers an à la carte menu based around ‘farm assured’ produce. The menus change through the seasons and offer fresh local Scottish produce. We feature a selection of hand-selected wines, craft-brewed Scottish beers and cider and bespoke gins from all over Scotland. The attractions of Glasgow city center are 5 minutes’ walk away. Glasgow School of Art and the RCS are on the doorstep, along with The Theater Royal, Glasgow Film Theater and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

The hotel is very cosy; the personal there was very helpful and sympathetic. We liked very much the typical Scottish food, and the advices that the waiters provided.

Very comfortable and clean rooms in an excellent location just a short walk from Glasgow Queen St station in the heart of the city. A complimentary dram on arrival and the most fantastic breakfast. Friendly staff. This was a brilliant find and we loved that it was connected to the National Piping Centre.

A very cosy hotel in a brilliant location. Very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Appreciated the welcome dram too.

Had a fantastic stay! The welcome whiskey was such a nice touch, and both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. The room was lovely and super comfortable, and the location couldn’t have been better. What really made it though was the incredibly friendly staff — they made us feel right at home. Would 100% come back!

Quirky, good value, great location for city centreGreat staffExcellent breakfast

We were in room 6 which was up lots of stairs. Not a problem for us but could be difficult for less-mobile

Loved central location and still very quiet. Could easily sleep with a window open.

The room was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed. I liked the tartan decor throughout. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast and delicious food from the dinner menu. Ideal location 2 mins away from Cowcaddens subway station or a short walk to the city centre. My room was at the back, not much noise from the road.

Bring a pair of earplugs if you are a light sleeper as the building itself is "alive" and a bit noisy (radiators, ventilation, heavy doors etc). The towels were the opposite of fluffy and a bit harsh on sensitive skin.

    9BridgetPosted on: 2-6-2026

Perfect location for attending events at Celtic Connections. Welcoming dram a great touch. Breakfasts were substantial, well cooked and wide choice offered. Staff very friendly and background music played was appropriate. (Interesting when competing with bagpipes being practised in National Piping Centre next door! )

Roadworks happening on road outside made access a bit tricky but this is only temporary and will result in improved pedestrian and cycle experiences in the area and an enhanced environment for the building.

Staff are lovely bed very comfortable room clean

When we arrives 9pm the room windows were wide open and room was freezing there is a constant humming noise feom vents and 1 of the windows (left) are not secure and rattle with the wind. Work being done directly out side hotel so being woke at 7.30 8am every morning with drilling and traffic noise threw out the night need better windows to stop so much noise

Lovely building, clean and warm. Staff all very friendly and had a wee look in the piping museum too. Breakfast and dinner were both really good.

    9JamesPosted on: 2-1-2026

Friendly staff, great location and value for money

Loud air vent noise almost constant during the evening

We'd been staying at Best Westerns for three nights and whilst the breakfast buffets there are very good we found the breakfast at The Piper's Tryst a cut above, freshly cooked and served to your table. The decor is characterful and adds to the traditional feel of a hotel with just the eight rooms but all the service you would expect from a professionally run accommodation service. Yet this is a new enterprise so they have gotten up and running to a high standard quite capably. Add in the location at the top of Hope Street and you are just minutes away from The Royal Concert Hall, theatres, other music venues, restaurants, shops and bars.

Nothing that we didn't like but bear in mind that there are roadworks in Cowcaddens at the moment and also the reception is not twenty four hours (but you have a key to the side door for all hours access.)
