    • Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Location excellent too with the added advantage of a free carpark
    • Great location, amazingly friendly staff and cute room!
    • Location was good, and there was a free designated parking area for guests!! Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were really cozy and clean.

    Cons -

    • our room was adequate for us but was on the small size. The showered pressure was really poor too.
    • My only minor complaint is that their free wifi is unsecured. Everything else was 10/10
    • The fan and tp holder were broken, and a fan helps dim the noise outside. I could feel the springs in the matress- luckily I like sleeping on hard surfaces.

The staff was exceptional especially Micheal. He helped me lug my luggage up the staircase. Location was perfect. Excellent dinner and bar, lovely simple breakfast that included berries.

The staff is awesome, and the food in the pub is fantastic!! Great central location for ranging out in inner city Glasgow.

The room was a bit stuffy, and small, but worked for just one person.

    8MartinPosted on: 1-8-2026

Even though I was leaving early, before they opened for brekafast. They left me a tray of food the night before that would easily feed two people. Very generous,

The walls are a bit thin. Someone else's alarm woke me up and you can hear the music from the bar below.

The location was within walking distance of the train station, which was a priority for me as I was only meant to be in town for the night. Babbity is also close to the metro line for easy access to the rest of the city, and near some beautiful sightseeing spots! The room was perfect for me. It was slightly cramped at times with my suitcase on the floor, but nothing I couldn't work around. There was bottled water, instant coffee, tea, and an electric kettle in the room. The breakfast was tasty, and I loved the quiet morning I had there, watching the rain while enjoying a cappuccino. I was advised as to how to spend the few hours I had in the city before venturing out after eating. Having the restaurant below my room was helpful as a solo female traveler, as it provided easy access to meals without leaving at night if I didn't want to. There was no trouble carrying my suitcase up the stairs, but I was offered assistance if I had needed it. The rooms are locked off from the rest of the building, and only those with a code have access. Additionally, the staff were kind, warm, and helpful. Check-in and check-out were easy and without hiccups. (I left my things with them post-check-out while I explored without any issue.). This was a perfect spot for me to spend a night in Glasgow.

I don't have anything specific that I didn't like, or at least nothing that I remember. The only thing I can think of is maybe providing a hair dryer, but I'm unsure if that's a common thing to offer in Scotland. My expectations were met (even exceeded in some ways), and I wasn't looking for anything additional to what I found.

The Babbity Bowster was our favorite stay on our Scottish Holiday. The staff are what really made this place shine for us as the last stop on our trip. Cathy, Graham and Harry were so attentive and excellent hosts. All of our needs were met and they made us feel super welcome. You check-in at the bar in the restaurant on the first floor and then they take you up to the top floor where all the rooms are. Our rooms were super comfortable. A little on the small side but the bed was very comfortable, the covers warm and despite it having a bopping bar, it was a quiet sleep. The food in the restaurant was also quite excellent. Some of the best we had. They offer both traditional Scottish foods, some with a modern take and a couple of fares from other places on the globe. The location is a little far from ease of access to public transit but not a bad walk. There is plenty to see and enjoy as you explore. They do have onsite parking for hotel guests should you need it. Needless to say, we will be back the next time we are in Glasgow!

Breakfast was lovely, location and characteristics of the hotel were great. The staff were fantastic for carrying our cases up the stairs for us and bringing them down.

    The stairs :)

The location was perfect, the included breakfast abundant and the staff amazing! They even brought our suitcases up and down to and from our room !

    Nothing really!

Located within walking distance of Queen Street station. Nice pub downstairs, and many restaurants nearby. Rooms are small but clean. Breakfast is continental style, but good variety. Accommodated request for nondairy milk. Coffee was amazing!

Challenging climb up stairs with luggage. Confused our taxi driver who knew only of the pub, not the hotel.

    10ToddPosted on: 9-2-2025

I fun property with great service and great employees. The rooms above the pub were nice and had everything you needed. About 1 mile away from lots of shopping. Drink and good food available below where you sleep. No noise from bar.

Parking was very tight, but in a safe area right next to the property. And the staff helped with parking as needed.

Cozy clean & comfy. Staff was wonderful. Lots of restaurants & bars in the area.

Loved the location and rooms. Nice breakfast

    Stairs up to rooms

The staff were wonderful, very congenial, helpful and a pleasure to talk to! One of them lugged our heavy bags up 3 flights of stairs!! Loved the pub atmosphere, sitting there in the evening only to walk upstairs after a cocktail two was perfect. The large deck is a plus! The breakfast was a nice continental with fabulous fresh fruit and pastries. There was bottled water (in glass not plastic, thank you) and coffee in the room which was very convenient. The location was ideal for walking to the center of market square. The windows open, so opportunity for fresh air at night! Even though this is a pub it was very quiet.

The room was a small with little room to navigate around the bed and therefore had minimal space (a few small drawers) to put away our luggage and clothes. However, we were traveling for a month and had 3 cases. Not unusual and not a problem for us, but there is no lift, so you will have to carry your luggage up/down stairs. Although, as previously mentioned the staff were eager to help with this. If you like firm beds you should sleep comfortably, I prefer them a bit softer, so a negative for me but maybe not you?

The hosts were FABULOUS!!!! The food GREAT and right downstairs!

Realize old building so putting a lift in perhaps not possible. (Last place on our trip so wish it had but would not deter me from coming back) Bed a little too stiff

Quaint old pub and friendly staff. Great scotch.

Did not realize had a climb on stairs to room.
