Pros +

  • Top location, easy access to shops / main road and to the train station (5min walk). The inn itself has a lot of charm - it is part pub, restaurant, brewery, with a nice outside seating area in the courtyard. You can definitely stay there a bit while planning your day, or enjoy a drink or two when coming back after a long hike!
  • Wonderful location. Will visit again and stay longer!

Cons -

  • Our room was right above the restaurant's rubbish bins area. Not great. However, it was quiet since that is the back of the courtyard, away from the street. The breakfast was particularly underwhelming, especially since we were looking forward to it as it was described as "superb" on Booking.com. Basically you've got a choice of full English or vegan full English, that's it. The continental "buffet" is a bit of a joke (and clearly an afterthought as it is relegated to a different room and only mentioned once you've ordered the main breakfast): some frozen croissants/pains au chocolat, miniboxes of cereal, one type of sliced cheese, ham, orange juice, and off you go. On par with what you'd find in a "Ibis Budget" hotel... But if you were going to get the full English anyway - it is very good.
