Pros +
- Great breakfast, large room and very tidy. Good location for what I needed too
- it is an old building the the historical value has not clouded the comfort. The rooms are extremely spacious and accommodating for receiving a guest or two. it feels as a comfortable space raher than a bedroom only.
- Beautiful building well appointed rooms inna lovely location.
Cons -
- Some things there are getting a bit old, but everything worked
- the bathroom window was blocked… but ventilation dis work
- Felt more like a B&B than a hotel, staff were nice but maybe slightly inexperienced, didn’t have hot water after my second night and it wasn’t mentioned/brought to attention - for me the location was a little further out than I’d have liked but obviously that’s no fault of their own.

Friendly, helpful staff.Excellent food in the evening and great breakfast.
Staff seemed quite friendly, comfortable bed, shower (when there was hot water) was good.

Staff were nice and helpful, food excellent and. it clean.
My room was cold.
I loved the shower, what a great clock, it gives you the temperature and how much water you have taken for your shower.
The girls are sweet but incapable to make any decisions, the hotel really needs management to oversee and make it a better place to stay.
Great service, great breakfast and great room. Lovely historic hotel building.
Nothing to complain about!
There was a decent selection for breakfast, a little strange that when you check in you need to fill out a paper with selections for the morning but overall the food and service was very friendly.
Hotel was very old and parking area was very small and cramped, fortunately we didn't arrive too late and were able to find a spot easily. Room was old and outdated and typical of Europe the drains in the bathroom had a sewer smell that you could smell in room and hallway. Windows were very old and drafty and did not help with road noise. Carpeting in the room was also musty/mildewy so this caused some allergy issues for us.
Very attentive staff. Room on ground floor useful for someone with mobility issues. Location was excellent for someone competing at Blaise Castle. Loved the hi tech shower.
Room, although very comfortable, was cold until the heating came on. No additional form of heating.
Disappointing this time
When I got there staff were lovely but didn’t mention there was no hot water. When I raised it on trying to have a shower it had clearly been a problem for a while. So there was no hot water until the following morning. The radiators went off in the night too so the room got cold. This was a known issue when I booked so i should have been told (I’d have gone somewhere else!). Room service (dinner) was good although a long wait and breakfast was good too. A shame as I’ve had some nice stays there before.
The breakfast was brilliant, beatifully presented and in a lovely room. Very well organised, plently of options. Quick attentive and friendly service
The room I stayed in was an odd shape with strange window positions but it was in an old stone outbuilding so it was probably the best job that could be done. Very comfortable, with extra heater, duvet blanket, plus all the usual stuff. Lovely new bathroom.
Smooth check-in. Room really nice and just what was needed for a restful night. Breakfast not taken so cannot comment.
3 non major room issues reported to Reception on Check Out and all duly noted. Maybe a more thorough attention to pre stay room prep. Not enough to stop another stay.
The room was lovely and so was the bathroom. We were in the annexe part of the hotel but the main hotel had a smell of sewage as we walked through.Heating doesn’t come on until 5pm so room was cold but a blow heater was provided.Location was good
The smell wasn’t nice, heating should be on in colder weather
Front of house team are professional, accommodating and Good room with very comfortable bed.
There was a weird rotten egg smell which wasn’t great. Also no hot water in the mornings.Appreciate it’s not the ritz and don’t want to sound like a princess but a freezing shower isn’t for me.
Clean, comfortable bed, good size room
Parking was limited and quite tight for space. Tea making facilities wasn't fully stocked.
Enjoyed my tidy room with good WiFi and a comfortable bed. Parking was free and ample.First rate breakfast served by friendly staff.
I arrived around 4 pm and found no hot water. Had to boil a kettle to shave and wash my hair in the bathroom sink.
The breakfast was great and the lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. It was useful to have free parking.
I hit my head on the low beam by the side of the bed after standing up from making coffee using the facilities in the room.
Staff, room, car park
Nothing really
Friendly staff, great location to where we were going for a party. Breakfast was lovely and good selection of cereals too. The room was lovely, great lighting and size.
Only filter coffee or tea available which was fine but I would have liked a few more coffee options.
