    Pros +

    • The room was very large for a standard room. Also very nice, shower was nice. Play area for my son. Great breakfast was included.
    • I have stayed here before. Perfect location for us near family. It was super easy to access out of hours and the rooms were great. I could also tell they had made updates in the stairways which improved everything.
    • It was a very comfortable, clean, warm room with a modern, warm bathroom. The food was great, and the staff are very accommodating: when we asked for our room to be a twin instead of a double, they fixed it within 15 minutes.

    Cons -

    • It was in a pub, so a little loud for the night. My husband and son slept through it all, but I am a light sleeper, so woke up a little easily with the noise.
    • Everything was great. We were there over Christmas so had no need for breakfast or any other meals. The outside staircase for out of hours access is only difficult for those with accessibility needs but otherwise great.
    • The stairs to the rooms were not ideal, and were very steep, which is not ideal for those who have limited mobility.

We loved staying over a pub. The location was perfect for going to the Bristol Rovers match. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was a little small but adequate.

    Location

Property won't supply a receipt or invoice, so I cannot claim my expenses. Room noisy, AC humming all night, very bright light on the fire alarm light a spotlight

The room was equipped with everything that was needed, the bathroom was excellent, I loved the shower! The bed was also really comfortable. Access after hours was very easy and very convenient, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had breakfast at the hotel which was really good, and whilst we did not have dinner, the food did look amazing as we walked in past the tables. The outside space was also really good.

The hotel was a bit pricey compared to what I thought I would need to pay for the stay, however, I would pay it again to stay in such excellent accommodation. I really enjoyed the stay.

Style of the room and large bed. Smart TV.Large shower. Nice floor lamp and coffee machine in the room.Fan/heating unit in the room.Easy to enter/leave after hours.Staff were friendly and helpful. Very accommodating with requests for dinner.

Room next to the fire escape so noise 2am Saturday due to other guests. Also noise Monday morning from barrels being moved.Shower temperature gauge doesn’t work properly for small shower head.Wi-Fi would not connect to the TV.No breakfast on Monday due to staffing issues then continental only the next day.

Clean comfortable room. Great location. Free parking.

Breakfast was very poor and expensive considering the quality.

Good location. Near a bus stop for the centre of Bristol, so didn’t need to drive in.

Disappointing breakfasts. Missing ingredients for three of the breakfasts on both days we strayed there.

    8StevePosted on: 2-20-2025

    Friendly and comfortable.

Breakfast. No mushrooms, black pudding or tomatoe sauce. Bacon was streaky not back

We cancelled our 4*hotel to stay here! We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this charming pub hotel over New Year's, and it was everything we could have wished for and more! From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the staff made us feel instantly at home. Owen, the GM, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and tailored to our needs—his kindness and attention to detail truly stood out.We stayed in a lovely separate house near the inn, which gave us the perfect mix of privacy and convenience. The room was spacious, spotless, and incredibly cozy—ideal for our babymoon! We spent our evenings unwinding, watching Netflix, and just soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. Despite the lively New Year's celebrations and even a big football match happening nearby, everything remained blissfully quiet, allowing for a truly restful city break. The food was another highlight! Dinners at the pub were full of great traditional pub flavours and fun vibes, making our evenings extra special. Breakfast each morning was substantial and delicious, exactly what we needed to start the day. The morning staff were kind, caring, and always happy to help, adding to the overall warmth of the place. This stay was exactly what we needed—relaxing, welcoming, and full of special touches. If you’re looking for a memorable getaway, whether for a babymoon, a New Year's celebration, or just a well-earned break, this is the place to be. We can’t wait to return for a Belgian waffle dessert!!!

    Erm......nothing....

Staff very friendly. Room clean and warm. Bed comfortable. Lots of hanging space although it was just hooks on a wall, hangers provided. Plenty of great towels and toiletries and good shower. Kettle, tea, coffee facilities provided plus drinking water and glasses.

I was expecting, and had booked, a downstairs room so I didn’t have to carry a suitcase up and downstairs. I did question the stairs when I got there but was told all downstairs rooms were outside. I had known that when I booked but assumed maybe they weren’t using them due to the cold weather in January but the cleaner appeared to be coming in from doing outside rooms. I didn’t query it again as I had already unpacked by the time I realised the cleaner had been working outside and I was only staying 2 nights. Personal I know, but I didn’t like the dinner menu so didn’t eat there in the evenings. Chair was positioned under the TV meaning you had to sit on the bed to watch TV. No instructions in room for anything.

    Location

Room was freezing when we arrived. It’s a bust pub so don’t expect personal service. No chef so only a poor continental breakfast - we went elsewhere

    10PaulPosted on: 1-16-2025

Friendly staff. Comfortable room.We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed our meal. It was quiz night and there was a good atmosphere (and we won the quiz!)

We were in room 4 and could hear the music playing in the pub below. Fortunately we were too tired to be disturbed, but might request a different room next time.

Sheets were clean, bed was comfy. Staff were lovely. Location was great for what we were doing.

Black mould on shower sealant. Ripped carpets. Breakfast was not the best - should have been sourdough - got dry granary. Very little scrambled egg, warm washed out smoked salmon. Coffee was good. The bar on the night we arrived - 3 TV's all blaring out at top volume and yet there was hardly anyone in there - not a single corner to go for a conversation. There was just no need for such loud TV's - all playing the exact same thing.

    6KathrynPosted on: 1-6-2025

The breakfast was very nice, but the restaurant had been cleaned and there was a very strong smell of bleach which was off putting

The shower had mould in the grouting and bleach smell at breakfast which was very strong

Great welcome, lovely room & facilties.

There was a tiny green light permanently on in the ceiling - almost above my head so the room wasn't dark enough for me to sleep - even though there were blinds & shutters etc on the window!
