Pros +
- Great hotel. Great bar area. Lovely food. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Great location.
- The location was good enough. Although some locals had mentioned some conflict in the area of Ormeau Avenue.
- Adequate room space with lounge chair. Room was clean and tidy. Comfortable bed great pillows. Nice breakfast and very friendly staff. Check in staff very informative and helpful. Easy check in and out and good value for money.
Cons -
- It was filthy! We had to get the cleaner back in, tea dried stains still on the spoons they weren’t washed, toothpaste still in the basin, hair all over the bathroom and there was still pieces of rubbish dotted around the carpet, definitely wasn’t hoovered, the dust was so bad it set off my allergies.
- Shower and bath takes a while to get hot water but this was not a big issue.
- We got a double room but it was very small and was used more so for someone with a disability. The wear and tear in bathroom, made it look out of date and not clean.

Staff at reception were really friendly. Good value for money and a central location
Friendly staff, great location, good breakfast
No parking
Good location and easy to get around the city from hotel..
Some of the staff on reception were not very pleasant to deal with.. Self service check in and out doesn’t work very well. The room we had wasn’t comfortable and you need to request a bath mat for the shower at reception, this should be available in the room at all times. Overpriced for what we received.. Very disappointed with our stay.
Very poor
Un clean, bathroom was dirty broken fixtures and wood coming away. Cupboards all sticky unclean,
Location
Very basic, bathroom was desperate and room was cold
The rooms were spacious and the beds were super comfy. Really great location also
TVs were old, skirting board was falling apart, staff barged into our room one morning after repeated yelling to not enter and that we did not want the room serviced. Front desk refused a late check out saying the hotel was fully booked even though we could rebook to stay another night if we wanted to which didn’t make any sense. Hotel is lovely but I’d just keep to yourself as the staff aren’t the friendliest
Very close proximity to limelight for events. Staff were very friendly. Plenty of towels and linen. Large comfy beds.
Bathroom needed a thorough clean as it had mould in places, shower not working, no bathroom bin (first hotel I have ever stayed in without one) Good location for events in limelight but bring ear plugs if you want an early night as it is also a nightclub and was quite loud into the early hours. Parking very difficult to find so maybe direction for this might be helpful.
Nice staff
No functioning toilet,.we where moved to another room that had no heating Then my daughter was locked in the bathroom.
We stay regularly at the Clayton It’s always good. Breakfast is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful.
There was no hairdryer in the room. 1st time this has happened. Daughter had hers with her so it was fine.
Great staff!!
Bed too small bathroom not clean and bad smell
It was great location clean comfortable and warm And felt safe
Liked everything
The central location
For some unknown reason we were assigned a unrequested wheelchair friendly room with a wheelchair accessible wet room bathroom..try showering with a built in chair
Very central location, everything within walking distance, train concert venue (telegraph building) ect .. stayed here few times and will again no probs, great breakfast, friendly staff , special shout out to the night staff, pure gentleman !
Great location clean warm and comfortable
Liked everything
close to city centre
i selected a double deluxe room and received a room with a double bed and a single bed , also had adjoining doors to the next room which was left unlocked which made me feel uneasy , other than that the stay was overall good
The welcome and assistance whenever I was checking in, the super comfortable bed
The tv in the room could do with having more channels
