Maldron Hotel Smithfield Dublin City

The hotel was cheaper than most options in the area, the room was large with all amenities and the staff was nice and accommodating. The position of the hotel is fairly quiet at night, close to Smithfield tram stop. Good value for money.

The hotel needs some renovation, especially the bathroom was a bit outdated. In the room there was no adjustable aircon/heating system but just a radiator. For breakfast a fair amount of sweet and sour options are available, but unfortunately no vegan/plant based pastries and yogurt options were offered.

The deluxe quad room was amazing value for money. The beds were super comfortable. The tv was a great size and the tea and coffee and biscuits selection was fantastic.

Very good breakfast, confortable and clean room. Location 20 minutes from center, but well comunicated.

The hotel was perfectly positioned close enough to all the tourist hot spots. Great coffee shop opposite too!

Issue with smell of weed in the room and in the corridor on that floor for 2 days of my stay. It was not there the first night, but it did affect my friends on another floor. I was told it was from the street, this was patently not true.Balcony door sealed poorly with a draft, poor heating in the room.The shower/bathing facilities are badly designed and maintained, plug comes away in your hand and was filthy. The main shower is too close to the bath taps and you are forced to used a bath mat to avoid slipping on the bend of the bath. The bath tap had no hot water. The shower partition is useless and lets water leak onto the floor, I found it dangerous unless a used another towel on the bathroom floor.For breakfast there was an obvious long black hair in the cubed melons for breakfast.The soundproofing between rooms is poor, the sounds of action movies into the early hours of the morning from my insomniac neighbour made sleeping difficult.My room was also beside the fire escape door for the stairs which bangs loudly, which was loud and often due to service staff using the same elevator system and tying up the lifts for long periods.A very uncomfortable stay

Night manager was really aggressive with my daughter when she called to speak to me with my room number and refusing to let anyone speak to me as they wore worried He was very rude and disrespectful towards my daughter threatened her with police as my daughter was frantically panicking worried and he didn't notify me in anyway possible his behaviour was outrageous and unacceptable I wouldn't ever recommend the accomodation to anyone and it would be all because of the treatment of head staff

Everything about this visit was top class. Great value, spacious room with bathtub, spotlessly clean, early check in, convenient location, hearty breakfast, and good on site restaurant. However, the truly exceptional piece was the front of house and restaurant staff. Professional of course, but also caring and kind, pleasant and welcoming, going that extra mile to help, taking time to explain. I had the opportunity to watch them deal with many customers as I worked in the lobby for a while after check out, they were by far the best I have seen in recent years. Their pleasant demeanor extended to their dealings with each other as well as the customers. Well done Maldron.

Comfortable spacious rooms

No where to plug a fire stick into tv

I liked the location, the proximity to the Luas line, the bed was very comfortable, and I liked the free chocolates, water and coffee. I liked that room service was available, which I feel is very important for a female solo traveller.

I couldn't fully close the glass door opening out to the balcony and draughts of wind kept blowing through it the door, which made the room a little cold. I tried to pay for room service through the hotel wifi but the payment wouldn't go through.
