    Pros +

    • The historic building was charming and full of character, and the room was huge and very comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful, and the neighborhood was convenient, yet quiet.
    • Location was perfect - walking distance to the city center but in a quiet, upscale area and with wonderful staff!
    • Everything. The staff is spectacular and helps you find your way

    Cons -

    • The location is at least a 15-minute walk from the city center, which may be a consideration for some travelers. However, it is easy and quick to get to using the #4 Dublin bus, and the quiet neighborhood is a nice respite from the bustle of the city.
    • Location was hard to find and parking was difficult

A beautifully restored schoolhouse turned into a charming, relaxing hotel with a phenomenal and accommodating staff. The grounds are inviting and steeped with history.

We loved to stay there, everything was perfect. The food, people and the distance from everything. And there was a man who worked in the resepcion, and he was the nicest man ever.

I asked for a quiet room and got one. You can open the wimdows, which is a bonus nowadays and the decor is very nice and patterned

Beautiful hotel with fantastic character. Comfy beds, couldn't have been cleaner. Staff were polite and professional while being super personable and friendly. Location was ideal for restaurants and the Bord Gais theater, couldn't have been better. Quiet and peaceful location. The car park had plenty of spaces, and paid parking just outside in case you did have to wait for a space. Will be returning.

The breakfast was in my opinion not what I would expect from the Schoolhouse. The selection of cereal/ fresh fruit was limited. The cold meats was sub standard. There was no natural yoghurt which I would think is a staple in most hotels. As we were leaving after breakfast it left me feeling slightly cheated from what had been a really lovely stay up to that point. We paid €40 for 2 for breakfast, which was very disappointing and did not meet expectations at all.

    Breakfast.

Nice place with pleasant atmosphere, good restaurant, convenient and very clean rooms in an authentic building.

The shower water pressure was practically absent. Double bed was made of two separate ones.

Very comfortable room in a historic building, good location for walking to sights and shopping, bed and bath were wonderful, breakfast was very good although the room is very dark. Bar area was nice with friendly staff.

Our cab to the airport arrived earlier than ordered and in the confusion of checking out and trying not to keep the driver waiting, we inadvertently kept the room key. I’m surprised they don’t specifically ask at check out for the keys as they are old and expensive to replace. $30 charge to mail from the USA so don’t forget to turn in your key!

This hotel was absolutely delightful and surpassed all our expectations. The location was perfect, centrally situated and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Both the restaurant and hotel facilities were exceptional, and the staff truly made our stay memorable. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and genuinely cared for, as if we were visiting old friends rather than staying at a hotel. Every team member we encountered was knowledgeable and went above and beyond to assist with our questions and requests.
