    • The early check in. The attention to detail. The gift on departure. Lovely stuff.

    Cons -

    • Nothing really, though the room was a bit small to be overly comfortable to spend any amount of time in, so I didn't!
    • Nothing really, though the room was a bit small to be overly comfortable to spend any amount of time in, so I didn't!
    • The bathroom had a door made of glass, and that felt not very private. Neither was it soundproof between bedroom and bathroom so when You were in the bathroom it felt really unprivate. But everything else was great, so this was not a big problem. It would also have been nice with a lamp outside the door, it was quiet dark and hard to see the stairs when it was dark outside.

The hotel had a lot of character! Each room with a slightly different theme. It was great stay in a property that had a lot of history which was acknowledged. The breakfast was also well presented.

We really liked the room and the hotel. It had a special, very nice style. It really looked as in the pictures, wich was great. Beautiful and autenthic room, and great comfort. We would like to come back! Extra nice with the little gift from the hotel, thank You! The staff was so good and helpful to us, we felt really welcome. A real nice and comfy stay.

It was ok, carb loaded. Pastry and sugar mainly

Place is narrow, hallways, rooms and facilities are SMALL. Can not stand up tall in certain areas,

Service was truly magical! The hotel team called me prior to arrival to confirm time, helped me to my room with luggage, and reserved a car to the airport for me. Room was small (expected) but thoughtfully laid out (definitely only room for one in the Instrument Room!) and overlooking the canal. Loads of bars, cafes, restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was truly the best I've ever had - from the choice of breads to the spread ready for me at the table so that I could eat prior to early flight! I can't say enough about the quality and variety as well as the cute breakfast room! And the gift of gorgeous coasters of the hotel (blue & white porcelain!) were the icing on the cake!

Just a couple of blocks from Central Station yet wonderfully peaceful, The Craftsmen combines history and comfort in a beautifully restored 1652 building. Solo travellers will love the smaller, budget-friendly rooms: compact but with everything you need. Breakfast is outstanding—top-quality classics plus fresh fruit, berries and muesli. The young staff embody true hospitality: genuinely helpful and effortlessly professional.

The room was absolutely charming!! It had beamed ceilings and wooden windows that opened out onto the canal below. The bathroom was small but excellent. I loved that it was called the Bookbinder Room and they had epoxied the back of books together to form the desk top. The location right on the Singel canal was a 5 minute walk from the train station and ferry and was within walking distance of the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum.

I would prefer to have a blanket on the bed. My room was a little hot and there was a Dyson A/C which I used to cool things off but I sleep better with a blanket on top. Other than that, loved the room.

The staff were great, breakfast was amazing. I stayed in the tiny single room but it was very cosy and didn't feel too small. Everything in the room was of very high standard. Location was very central.

It was a little noisy outside at night, but given the central location that would be hard to avoid in any hotel.

This hotel really takes care of the entire guest journey - from a surprise bottle of wine in the room to gift at the end of the stay. Room was very clean and designed with lots of craftsman spirit. Breakfast was good overlooking the channel. I would definitely recommend it.
