Great breakfast relatively affordable

When I arrived to check in, I was informed that my booking had been cancelled because I had missed the stated check-in deadline by approximately one hour. I was then told I would need to pay double to secure the room again. This was extremely distressing, particularly as I had just completed 12 hours of travel and was in a new country without alternative accommodation options readily available.What was especially concerning was that I had already paid in full for a 7-day stay. I was not contacted by phone or email to notify me that my booking would be cancelled if I did not arrive by a specific time. Losing a fully paid booking after missing the check-in window by one hour felt disproportionate and unexpected.Thankfully, the situation was ultimately resolved by the manager, and I was offered complimentary drinks for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. I would also like to highlight that the staff were generally kind and professional throughout the stay. In particular, Stef was amazing - she was a great host and made a positive difference during what had initially been a very stressful experience.I hope this feedback can help review how check-in policies are communicated and handled, especially for guests arriving after long international travel. Clearer communication or a courtesy call before cancelling a fully paid booking would greatly improve the guest experience.

Pod room felt a bit claustrophobic !

I chose the hotel because of the bikes advertised so it was not very cool to discover there were none. It gave the property the extra i was looking for and it not being there was a real pain in the ass . The rooms in New York citizen are also nicer and more spacious The staff was extra nice though

Down the side of the bed by the shutters looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months… socks, TV controls and condom packets…

The location was perfect, out of the way of busy central but close to the train. Staff were so nice and the room was very cool.

Overall, a very good stay. I was surprised by the room, although I liked the concept, which I think is good for solo travelers. The bedding was comfortable, and the shower heated up quickly. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast, while varied, could have used a bit more savory options.

The size of the room, and the layout of the two toilet and shower areas which are too open to the room, the fact that there are windows but they can't be opened, even onto the garden, is disconcerting to the point that you can't air the room when needed. I would have liked a coat rack or at least some hangers on the wall for quickly hanging clothes. And I don't know if it was just me, but the room wasn't warm enough, even with the air conditioning set to maximum.

Easy check in, adequate rooms and good location

The staff was extremely attentive and always found ways to make you feel well taken care of. The facilities are modern, and everything feels clean and efficient. Check-in was very easy, and check-out was just as smooth. I also appreciated the detail of being able to borrow umbrellas at no extra cost unfortunately, we had a rainy day, so that was very helpful

One thing I didn’t love was that the room felt small. I understand the concept is to have very compact rooms, but since I was traveling with my girlfriend and luggage, there came a point where it felt like there wasn’t much space to put additional items.

The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. I liked the option on the room controls to do a meditation based on my mood, and the lights and music changed accordingly. The food was lovely, not a massive selection but what I had was lovely. Breakfast was open from 6-11 which was ideal! The location was perfect for the RAI (where my event was), very close to Amsterdam Zuid train station and very quick to get to the airport.

The room was a little cramped and might have been too small if I hadn't been travelling alone.

Very Cozy beds. The Shower/Toilet situation is a bit unusual but it's nice though. Great connection to all must see spots in Amsterdam. Very very competent and friendly hosts.

Lovely friendly staff

I had paid a few months before in full for 3 rooms and was subsequently charged for 5. While it was sorted out and I was refunded we were without money for the last few days of our trip.

The curtain between the shower and bed needs to be a non see through curtain for privacy.Adam needs a medal the nicest and most helpful individual.

I have stayed at loads of citizen M hotels around the world I have always liked these hotels me and my partner stayed here last month we had a great time so decided to come back the following month!

I was abit disappointed this time with staying the blinds in the window didn’t work only the curtains worked the waterfall shower was blocked up and only like 7 holes wasn’t blocked and it wasn’t the cleanest there was hair all in the shower unit and also in the bathroom I’m gutted to be honest as iv spent loads of money at these hotels I guess i just had a bad room !

Staff really kind and helpful. Everithing was well clean

All electronic and automatizated, maybe too much. The temperature was low but dodn’t increase a lot during the night

Convenient location. Not far from subway metro station. Also very comfortable even in a smaller space

The separate toilet and shower are literally in the room, with blurred glass. Not for everyone, specially if 2 people are in the room.
