    • Location was perfect
    • Charming, good location, friendly and helpful staff
    • The location was fantastic! We walked everywhere, and it was very central in the city. The staff members were extremely friendly and helped us with local recommendations and what not. We will definitely stay here again!

    Cons -

    • No A/C. They turn off the coffee machine and don?t turn it back on till after 9am. I wish it was on all night/ first thing in the morning for earlier risers to enjoy a cup of coffee in the hotel.
    • No elevator. An ancient, winding staircase connects floors. Tiny room
    • Obviously, it's a steep staircase up to the room, but it kind of adds to the property's charm, and they will help you get your luggage to and from the room, so it's not a big deal!

Staff was helpful when we came late and left extra early. Bathrooms were clean and modern, showers easy to use and fully stocked. Bed was comfortable

    Stairs could use a vacuum

Efficient use of space, comfortable bed and good location. Plus, we liked to open the windows for the fabulous view.

It was in a loud part of the city with people up until late in the morning.

Location was perfect. The park behind the hotel with a balcony was some nice.

    Less expensive breakfast.

Excellent location, near key landmarks in Amsterdam and public transport. The facility stored our luggage until check-in time. The digital key system was very convenient.

The room size was too small, especially for a family of four. There was barely enough space for our luggage. The heating was also inadequate. Additionally, there were no kitchen utensils, cutlery, or even a kettle to make a cup of tea or coffee. The reception area had a coffee and tea machine, but it was only available from 9 AM to 7 PM, making it difficult to have coffee in the morning since most cafes don’t open until 8 AM. There was no lift, and the stairs were narrow and steep, making it challenging to carry our luggage up and down. If you have large bags, this is definitely not the right place for you. Also, the reception was unattended, particularly in the afternoons. The bathroom only had body wash, but no shampoo/conditioner or body lotion; you may need to take your own. The view from the windows was not great. Please ask for a canal view room.

The location was great, the building was quaint.

The steep steps to the fourth floor were challenging its our luggage. We understand it is part p& the charm. The only complaint we have was the heat. We didn’t have heat in the fourth floor triple room. We were told to turn it on, we did but it never got warm.

At check-in its mandatory to leave your mobile number in the system. Less than 24 hours after i left the hotel i am overflown with all kind of commercial calls from unknown numbers. How poor that a hotel sells your contact details. Not done.

The location was wonderful. On a quieter street, but close to everything. The room was right on the canal, so a beautiful view. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The stairwell ascending to the rooms was very steep and very narrow. No elevator so going up and down felt somewhat perilous. People with disabilities, limited mobility, or larger in stature would probably not want to stay here.

I had a wonderful stay in this charming canal-side hotel with a beautiful view. The building is a classic example of Amsterdam’s historic architecture—well maintained and full of character. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better.Do note that, as with most traditional canal houses, the rooms and stairs are quite small, and there’s no elevator. But that’s part of the authentic Amsterdam charm! Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would happily return.

We loved experiencing Amsterdam at the centre of the older part of the city. Traditional building with crazy stairs. Located on the canal.

    7FranciscoPosted on: 10-4-2025

There is no elevator. There were small noises. Coffee machine in reception was meant to be available by 9, which is late, but one day it was available later.

The location was perfect, it was in the middle of everything!! The hotel was charming and was in a quiet neighborhood. Would definitely choose this again if we ever go back to Amsterdam!

Room was a bit small, it was a bit too cramped for 2 people especially with our luggages.

The property was tiny, and the kids' room was humid and dark

Cleanliness of the apartment and the location was amazing.

Keys had to be used to leave the apartment space. Which mean everyone had to leave and go at the same time.

The location was excellent and we found both staff members were very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately we are older ,in our early 70's and the access to the room was terrible. The staircase was very steep and steep. You had to bend down in some sections to get up the stairs. Room was very basic, small and lacked normal hotel facilities airconditioning, fridge etc.Cost of room was very expensive for how it was projected on booking.com.ASs an older traveller I think the access needs to be better explained to travellers as older less able people would find this a very hard hotel to stay at.i guess with experience I would not have chosen this hotel unless you had a first floor.

We enjoyed our stay at the Stanley Collection Hotel so much! The staff was wonderful - so kind and accommodating. The hotel's location couldn't be any better. Everything was within walking distance - shopping, museums, train connections, and loads of restaurants. The rooms were small, but so smartly designed that they all worked well. We had a room for 3, and we didn't have any trouble finding space for each of our bags. The beds were very comfortable! Also, when I booked this hotel, there were lots of comments about the stairs. Yes, the stairs are very steep due to the historic nature of the building, but we thought they were charming and kind of fun. :) I will say that if you have large luggage, it's going to be a struggle, not impossible, just a little more difficult. We had backpacks, so it was easy to manage. If you are looking for a quaint hotel in a good location that embodies the history and essence of this historic city, this is your place. I highly recommend!

    We loved it all!

Great situation close to the centre of Amsterdam and in the canal ring. Easy to walk to different locations. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Loved it but it would be difficult to get a full size case up the stairs.
