    Cons -

    • Neighbours made noise. Just talking in group, you can hear because walls are not very soundproof. Also young clientele not very carefull of this matter.

Friendly staff, clean room, perfect location. The room met all my requirements for the short stay—fast and easy check-in and check-out. You had your key to get inside your room and the hotel. I had a sink in my room, which was great because I did not have to use the shared toilet and could take care of basic hygiene needs there.

The entrance is difficult to find, and there are only steep stairs to reach the reception. I only had a shared bathroom with the toilet for three rooms. Otherwise, the toilet was super clean and well-maintained.

WARNING.BE AWARE. AND TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION. that the owner of REMBRANDT SQUARE HOTEL does not.mention in the description.on booking.com.that the hotel is located above. two clubs on ground floor. 1.SMOKE SHOP CALL. " SMOKY " 2.PRIME which is a discothck. they are open every day.week days 11:00 PM. TO 3:00 AM.and weekends 11:00 pm to 5:00 am.the high volume ot the speakers makes the walls to shack.there are 12 rooms which their windows are facing the street.out of 20 rooms.in the hotel.so you have a high probability to be place in a room which facing the street.and just above the PRIME DISCOTHECK AND SMOKE SHOP "SMOKY "which make it impossible to sleep.due to the extreme high volume of the speakers. also people are talking under the windows. laughing/Screaming/smoking JOINTS. All together it is a very annoying.and very disturbing experience.make it impossible to sleep.in addition the stairs.are very steepe to the 4th floor. plaza or Rembrandt square has about 5 clubs/pubs. Which people are hanging togethe.all nightlong. .the building it's very old.approx 140 years old. hiding information it's to manipulate.to trick you.and pushing you to pay. I highly recommend to you not to book there..because you are going to pay. to suffer. Good for a weekend trip, nothing fancy but fantastic location and good price.

Felt quiet old and could do with some new lighting.

2nd time staying here & think Smokey’s is our main base in Amsterdam

    Deposit system

    9MandyPosted on: 12-20-2025

Was able to cater for our group of 10 people. We had all of Floor 3 for our group. The Coffee Shop underneath

When you’re waiting on your friends to all meet up downstairs, you’re not allowed to sit and wait for them at Smokey’s tables & chairs outside.

    10MandyPosted on: 12-20-2025

Waking up and going downstairs for a wake ‘n’ bake

Felt a bit weird handing over Cash for the deposit on a room with 3 or more people and then to find out that when you check out, you don’t get your cash back there & then. instead they transfer it to your account but by this time you’ve already left the country. I’m extremely weary of this method. I’ll update this post when I get my refund processed and it definitely should be €300 that I paid by cash. Other than that I cannot fault Smokey’s.

No fridge or kettle in the room

I liked how easy it was to check in and I was very close to the bathroom! I was also very centrally located with the tram taking me from the airport directly in front of the hotel. So happy!

I didn’t like the smells I would get from the bathroom because I was right next to the shared bathroom. Also, I didn’t like the constant smell of weed and the long flight of stairs up, but it wasn’t the end of the world.

The hotel is really bad. There are two good things. First, Claudia, who works at the reception, really took care of us in every way. Second, the location was good. But the hotel was dirty and very small. The radiator was so dirty that it smelled when we turned it on to heat it.

Central area in Amsterdam, great area in Rembrandt tucked away above a coffeeshop.

Only given 2 key cards between 3 people not ideal but not the end of the world.

Nice and friendly style hotel in one of the most beautiful square in Amsterdam, awesome view from the big window on Rembrandt square. The staff was super kind and also cute the free earplugs jar for sleeping because of the disco, very useful. Quality fair for the price.

Only bad thing the room was always cold.

    5LauraPosted on: 11-16-2025

I like the location , is very nice if you want to be close to tourist places

It's a place where there's a lot of noise at night, and the receptionist doesn't tell you that earplugs are available there. I saw them the next day, but it was too late. There's only one plug socket in the whole room, and I had to unplug my mobile phone charger every time I opened the door. They didn't clean the room or change the towels. These are the most notable issues, because I could go on and on. There's no lift.

    5JacquelynPosted on: 11-12-2025

    I liked the location.

I didn't like the narrow winding stairs and no elevator. Not good value. Pricy for what you got. Very basic.
