    Pros +

    • The quirky lift, it was the slowest in the Netherlands and that was advertised by the hotel.
    • Even though the room is super small it was kept very clean and modern eg. Ikea. The staff were nice and friendly and really tried to make your stay as good as possible. eg. refresh your amenities when asked. Room gave really good light in the morning.
    • The staff is really nice and helpful. That offset the deficiencies in the hotels amenities.

    Cons -

    • Nowe had a great stay.
    • Those stairs are STEEP. I think they are like that in all those NL housing. I have small feet and I felt like I was going to tumble off. Walls are paper thin so that is why they gave you earplugs.
    • There is no elevator and the stairs up to the second floor are extremely narrow. I. The US this hotel would have failed or been sued due to premise liability reasons. It is a chore to bring up 2 40lb check in suit cases.

    Price and location

No mention on website that there were stairs from sidewalk to entry, no lobby, no elevator. Had to take luggage up a flight of spiral staircase. Limited hours for front desk personnel. No door on shower.

It was exactly as I expected. Small, clean, comfy, warm, private bath. Would do it again!

If you are not a couple you should get your own room because the bathroom doors give no privacy.

Good bed and the location was perfect! Very close to the Leidseplein

    No Parkingspots

    Excellent location and comfortable.

Room is smaller than it seems in the pictures. As the other comments, stairs are very tiny.

The hotel staff was very accommodating with an early arrival time and a later than normal departure time - they kept our luggage so we could explore the city. Thank you! The room was clean, the air conditioning worked great, and the bathroom was very spacious too.

The comfort family room was fairly small for my husband, two sons in their late teens/early twenties, and me - you just have to know that going into the trip.

    Ignore this place.

I had a very disappointing stay. They gave me a room on the 4th floor, and the elevator was not working. I mentioned that I had a health issue and couldn’t take the stairs easily, but the staff offered no help. The stairs were also extremely narrow and uncomfortable to use.The room was tiny — there was barely any space for my luggage. The bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress kept sliding, and worst of all, I found bed bugs. The bathroom was poorly designed — the toilet was directly in front of the sink, making it impossible to wash your hands properly.Overall, this place is not worth staying in. I strongly recommend avoiding this facility.

Very small not clean and it’s not value for money

    Staff attitude, value for money

    Narrow stairs slow elevator

The location of the hotel was within easy walking distance of everywhere. In a lovely neighbourhood with plenty of bikes! The room was ok, we slept there! There is an interesting elevator set up, quite small, step in and the elevator moves up or down the walls. Perfect because the stairs are steep!

Amsterdam is expensive for accommodation. This was a budget hotel which matched the description and pricing.

Staff altitude, cleaning service every day without extra charge. Location near to tourist area

Entrance stairs are extremely narrow. no lift to the basement which made it even harder with luggage.Room and bed are very small,

Staff was incredibly helpful and the location was incredible. I was only here for a night before moving locations. It was what you would expect for an Amsterdam hotel, very tiny but I had a canal view and AC which was nice.

The room is VERY tiny - it was fine for me as a solo traveler but I imagine would be quite hard for more than one person. The stairs (like all of Amsterdam) are incredibly steep. There is a very tiny self-operated elevator/lift which was an interesting but fine experience.

Mr. Andrew and Ms. Katalina were very friendly and helpful. They made our stay much more homey. We hope to visit again soon.

The elevator was very small, but it didn't really matter actually.

The location was amazing. Really nice bars and restaurants in the area

The room was quite small and there wasn't really enough room for our suitcase.

    8RichardPosted on: 10-14-2025

The location was ideal. Museumplein, Food Hallen, and the Jordaan were a 10 minute walk away. Public transport nearby and right on a canal with drive your on boat rentals.

    9CarolinePosted on: 9-11-2025

The room was comfortable, the experience with the “laziest” elevator was really different and the staff were really polite and helpful. Options for coffee near in the neighborhood and amazing location to do all things walking.

    10HeatherPosted on: 9-2-2025

Loved the location near the canals but away from the busiest areas of Amsterdam. It was a quiet neighbourhood but still walking distance to everything.

No door on the shower but that seems to be the norm for Europe.

    8GiulianoPosted on: 8-8-2025

Excellent location, close to the tourist area, but also near a super residential neighborhood. Very close walking distance to Vondelpark, the Rijksmuseum, and the Van Gogh Museum. You can take the tram to Amsterdam Centraal just three blocks away.

The elevators weren't working, and I was staying on the top floor. However, the staff offered to carry my suitcase up at check-in.
