Cons -
- Tv don’t work Had no towels An they take a deposit. Incase you damage room and there not in a good state anyway very poor standards
- They put us in the basement room that looks like a storage without ventilation, oops there is a very tiny window that is on top of the wall and it’s on the street level, we can hear everything from outside even if that tiny window is close. It’s dusty and smelly, you won’t be able to sleep. Good thing that we only stay there for 1 night then we moved to a different hotel.
- Everything. Absolutely appalling. The room was a box, pictures did not reflect this appropriately! Would have been better to describe it as a cell. The bed was pushed up against the window,Which was broken and didn’t close properly (picture provided) so room was freezing and no option to move the bed away from the window and the TV didn’t work (wasn’t planning to sit in and watch it but would of been nice for it to atleast work)Notified the reception about the above and his response was simply “sorry, I don’t usually work at this hotel”The room was filthy, mould all around the windows.Dirt on the wallsThe breakfast was laughable- All cold items croissant, fruit and a yoghurt. Safe to say we ate out every morning. You could hear everything, the person at the end of the hall going toilet, washing their hands, rolling over in bed not to mention the loud BANG every time someone walked in and out of their room. The cost of this hotel, should be called a hostel firstly was pricey in comparison to what we received.

The location
We were advertised a much nice larger room. I was shocked to see the room. This is booking.com fault. We did not see any images of the room we got when booking and would not have booked the room which we were given
Location, price and friendly staff
Shared bathroom, layout of hotel meant rooms / corridors were noisy
The location was great. The bed was comfortable. It had Restaurants and coffee shops near by.
This is a historic building so the plumbing was a little different. The bathroom and shower were single use and shared so make sure you go before you go to sleep because you might be waiting in line out climbing up out down to other floors to use the restroom. The stairs were narrow going to all floors with no elevator.
Beautiful lobby, a brilliant guy at the reception - he was super warm. The location, and all the coffee I was served while I was at the lobby waiting for my check in time. Given an early check-in when it was possible. The hotel's nothing beyond the usual - infra wise - at Amsterdam but there surely was something different about this place. Loved it. And the music that was played at the lobby was amazing too - every single time I was out there.
Nothing at all.
I love the building and the big open hall...it gives a very welcoming feeling. The people behind the counter were really friendly. There was a small but clean room. (the toilet and bathroom are down the hallway...that you know before you make the booking..also imagine a forgotten towel and an empty shampoo bottle of a sloppy guest). The neighborhood has a super cool alternative feel, it is in a sort of a shopping street with lots of small special boutiques and vintage shops...laced with little restos...
Some of the guests are a bit LOUD...the hotel should ask a bit higher price (NOooo !! )... so it looses the loud guests and keeps those with respect for the others... haha
Exc room, beds were very comfy and in general everything was perfect
I like all maybe I would prefer to have an elevator and a bigger shower but nothing that is terrible.
We booked this hotel last moment and it was the cheapest we could find in the center of Amsterdam. Based on the reviews and the stars I was expecting something bad but instead I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Right in the center, very friendly and kind staff, descent rooms and clean. We stayed for one night and were very pleased.
The rooms don't have good insulation and the doors are very heavy, as a result, if someone from another room exited their room the doors would slam and we would wake up. There was a small black smudge on one of the covers but not something indicating that the hotel is actually dirty.
It's a perfect position, very close to central station and with all the services within short walking range. Despite several negative reviews I saw, the room was clean and not so different from the pictures (which for sure are from when everything was new). Very friendly staff. It was a fair from a quality/price prospective.
I'm not giving higher score as there is for a real a noise issue. From the street but as well a lot from the people inside. I understand it's Amsterdam, but at 4 in the morning the customer should avoid noises and per ha the night shift staff should immediately intervene. For the outside noise, a better insulation should do the job. This was anyway the only issue.
The hotel is perfect for a short trip when you just want to drop bags and be in Amsterdam. This is not a luxury hotel as reflected in the price.
The staff were great overall, except for one who decided to lecture me about buying a bottle of water instead of drinking tap water. It’s a bit difficult to rely on tap water when you’re out and about all day without a bottle to refill.
Location was good
TV didn’t work no plugs by beds and bathroom needs updating
Location is fantastic, really nice area. Staff are very nice
The condition on the room was very poor. The light in the bathroom was completely useless so had to shower with my phone torch turned on in order to see. There was alot of stains on the walls and generally grubby
Absolutely nothing I didn’t even stay I tried contacting them for a full refund
Unsafe there was urine on the walls bed bugs and the mattress was stained and smelt like wee. Felt uncomfortable and unsafe there was no manager around and the woman working said herself she wouldn’t even sleep there herself
Well it is a case of you get what you pay for. The staff were lovely, the stairs omg going up to the 3rd floor every night was a mountain hike. It is mainly the same at most buildings we went in and not use to it. But the room in the photo looked a lot better and bigger, but it was not when we got in there. It is really close to the Dam which was great, but it could definitely do with some upgrades, a very big building that can host a lot of people, if you are staying for a night stop then great, we stayed for 3 nights and it was not the best. We did not have any drink or food there, because we ate out elsewhere.
The rooms could be a bit more cosy and cleaner, it was very basic. We had 4 of us staying in one room, but only 3 of us ended up going which was a blessing, as getting 4 in there would have been a bit of a push.
The staff was so accommodating! They were also extremely welcoming and made us feel very comfortable during our recent stay. The beds were very comfortable and the location was ideally situated.
The location was superb and Ibrahim was the best receptionist, eager to help and very attentive.
The facilities were not clean. The hotel only had a hair dryer that did not work. Too expensive for what it had to offer the passengers.
Lovely hotel in one of the most beautiful streets in amsterdam close to everything
The location is perfect as it was in the center of Amsterdam, very near the central train station. The hotel is in a main street so it's easy to find and the staff was very friendly and helping us with our questions. Even though the room was small, we were okay and comfortable.
The room was not being cleaned or the trash were not removed at all for the duration of our stay. I'm used to having my hotel room cleaned or bathroom/hand towels to be changed but for my suprise neither was done by the staff. When we entered we saw that the holder for the shower head was broken, therefore we had to hold the head during our showers (which is okay and fine but if you pay for a service you expect this to be checked and fixed) and even the TV plug wasn't plugged in (and the socket was very high and above the wardrobe - did they expect that one of us was going to climb up there and plug it?).
