    • The location was excellent.
    • The location was great, and the view was awesome! The staff members were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, and we liked that the room had a table with chairs along with a water boiler and tea/coffee. We also liked that there was an elevator and that there was a place to temporarily leave our luggage after checking out.
    • The property had a lift, albeit a bit strange. Area was pleasant. Staff was nice.

    Cons -

    • The shower was a little tatty but it was clean and there was plenty of hot water.

A lovely, cosy hotel with great views overlooking the canals. The owners were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our bed linen and towels were changed daily which was a nice surprise as we were only there for a weekend. The property is near cafes and bars and although we did not have breakfast there it has a gorgeous dining room that adds to its charm and outside seating where we enjoyed a coffee in the sunshine. At the end of our stay we were able to leave our bags for a few hours with no extra charge as our flight wasn’t until the afternoon. It’s in a perfect location to experience the city and we had a wonderful, relaxing stay. Thank you.

The shower was a little tatty but it was clean and there was plenty of hot water.

We have stayed here several times because of the helpful staff and great location.

The room has a terrific view of the canal and the beautiful buildings on the other side.

This little hotel was delightful. Our view over the canal was so picturesque, the room was bright and clean, and the location was central and within walking distance of of everything. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and did not mind( I hope) that we kept eating the sweets on the reception desk. My daughter and I had a wonderful time staying here, and would definitely recommend.

We were happy with everything. This is not a souless five star hotel, but a quaint historic building on a canal- which was perfect for us.

Great value, cosy beds, superb location next to rembrandt square, fun and friendly staff <3

The best aspects of this hotel are undoubtedly the location and the view from the room. The room itself, however, was unusual and felt more like a small family apartment. It had a comfortable living area and a basic kitchenette with an old, small round table and four chairs. The kitchen was not fully equipped for cooking, but it did include a small fridge, a sink, and plates and cutlery—suitable for breakfast or a light snack. The room itself was spacious. The heater worked perfectly, and the room temperature was very comfortable, even during the cold winter weather.

The room was located in a separate, adjacent building with no reception or staff on site. Access was through a metal door, and the room was on the second floor (third floor for American or Latin American travelers), reachable only by very steep stairs. This makes it unsuitable for guests with large luggage, strollers, mobility issues, senior travelers, or families with toddlers.Additionally, the layout raised privacy concerns. The bathroom, kitchen, shower, and living area were all accessible to anyone who could enter the building, as there was no secured door separating the room from the common access area. Inside the room, the bathroom door could not be locked, and the shower was located in the living area. As a result, anyone using the shower would need the living area to be completely empty to have privacy.

Nice hotel, with superb views over the big canal, great room, nicely decorated and comfortable, quite cozy, it is a great place to stay.

    No complaints.

Excellent location, comfortable bed, friendly staff, excellent value for money.Perfect for a budget stay in Amsterdam. All major attractions are within walking distance

    Very basic facilities & decor

Fantastic location and staff were very friendly. Great to tea & coffee making facilities in the room & a little fridge. Lovely canal view too!

The decor was very tired & could do with a re-vamp. It could also do with a good deep clean. You could tell people have previously smoked in the rooms even though it’s non-smoking.

The view is amazing. Room is cosy and the bed is comfortable.

Its quite far from the centre however Amsterdam is a beautiful city to explore, especially by tram.

    10MohdPosted on: 1-6-2026

Location is in the centre. Walkable distance to most of area in the city. Room was comfy and the owner / staff was very kind and helpful.

    4FrancescaPosted on: 1-4-2026

Location is perfect to visit the city on foot and close to metro and tram stations

    Lacking cleaness and needs renovations

    8RogerPosted on: 12-26-2025

excellent location near rembrandt square so excellent tram links and all facilities . Perfect for 3 sisters bar where we ate a hearty full english breakfast every day

Steep stairs but lift provided . Nice to have had a view over canal but we were at the back

    5WoodwardPosted on: 12-23-2025

The main desk was invaluable and efficient.

I think the room requires some love and care. The bathroom needed a re-paint and overall, the bedroom could use some deep cleaning.

Fantastic location and very friendly staff. Clean hotel and good value for money.

The lift was too slow closing.

    9NeilPosted on: 12-8-2025

Location location location! You can pretty much walk to every major attraction, decent bar and restaurant from this hotel. Also, great view over the canal and over to Rembrandts Square.

It’s not a don’t like, it’s just a very personal thing. 1) the mattress had a lean on it, that made me feel like I was ripping towards the window. I have a bad back and this meant I was uncomfortable all night. 2) The room was compact. Vidal for a city break, as you’re not spending the holiday in the hotel room! However the back of the bathroom door had seen better days due to water damage from the shower. Just needs a bit of decorating and maybe covering with a sheet of Perspex to stop the splashing water damage. Otherwise the room, whole venue was perfect.
