Pros +
- Location, view
- The room had a really nice view, the staff was really friendly. The location is great, it's in the inner city and they have . They were very quick to prove me with an invoice, when I requested one.
- The location is great!
Cons -
- The main issue I had was the noise for some sort of high-pitched rodent alarm, which ran constantly. The bed was also not the best, it was a bit narrow for me.
- Killing stairs, very very tiny room, bathroom smells really bad and the shower drainer was clogged (they eventually fixed it and it was fine) bathroom sink super small, shower box was broken and wouldn’t stay closed.
- I think I left my sun glasses, can someone get back to me with that information, please?

Nice staff, nice location
I think I left my sun glasses, can someone get back to me with that information, please?
Love the old building with tall ceilings. They certainly packed a lot of use into a tiny space - very efficient!
The stairs were very steep!
The location couldn't be better! Very convenient, beautiful neighborhood, close to all sorts of activities and to public transportation. The room was comfortable.
The stairways are steep and treacherous. They're very challenging to navigate if you have several bags or heavy luggage. For the young and strong they're likely not a problem but be prepared!
The Location the security of the building
The Bed and the space of the room. The stairs were to steep and small. Moreover the smell coming from the toilet
Objectively, the location was perfect! A small room was advertised, so my expertations were not high (and that was fine!). What wasn’t advertised was how steep the stairs were. My room has hip and knee issues, and it quickly became a problem for her. Additionally, when asked for replacements for amenities, I received unnecessary attitude. Sorry one roll of toilet paper doesn’t last two people 5 nights…? Location was great. We stayed over Easter weekend so I imagine that had to do with price for the space and distance from the Centre (which was fine), but a warning about the potential climb to the fourth floor would have been appreciated. I would have paid more to book something else so my mom wasn’t so miserable
My 20 year old son and I came over the overnight Harwich/Hook of Holland ferry and wanted a hotel for one night only. The Titus is a budget hotel situated in an attractive area (overlooking one of the canals) and in fairly close proximity to cafes and restaurants, etc. It is the opposite end of the city centre to the railway station and thus a 45-minute brisk walk (albeit through attractive and interesting parts of the city) if you don't want to incur taxi costs. Our hotel room had an ensuite, was clean, and perfect for our needs. Would recommend if on budget or to someone who is more interested in seeing the sights rather than spending time in a hotel room or lounge with all the frills.
It wasn't an issue for us at all, but we had to navigate a very long and steep staircase (with narrow stair tread) to get to the land where our room was located. Could be an issue for anyone elderly or with mobility impaired. If so, then you may want to check whether there is a lift (couldn't see one) or go for a ground floor room. Also, it would have been nice to have tea making facilities in room - being English, we love our tea first thing in the morning and late at night!?
There was mice in the room running around the beds were not comfortable it was filthy the toilet your face was touching the bathroom wall the price was too expensive for what you got in return only good thing was location!
The hotel is fairly modest and spare, but the location is excellent, and the rooms in front have a nice view of the canal.
Very basic, small room for the price.
Location
Stairs, cleanliness, no appliances
The area was very good
The stairs were very steep the hotel was dirty and had a smell of sewage downstairs outside our room one of the pillow cases were dirty and had dried in blood on it the ensuite was very very small
Beds comfy Good shower Very good heating for winterFelt safe
Lots of stairs but typical of Amsterdam
It was in a good location. It was right next to a tram stop and near the city.
It wasn’t very clean, they don’t have blankets and the rooms weren’t sound proof so I could hear people talking at the reception and front door. There was also a random man who walked into the room next door where a girl was staying! How?!
Friendly and welcoming Clean
Be prepared for the stairs they are steep especially after a long day of walking Could do with tea and coffee making facilities in the room
Liked the location and the clean beds & floors
The smell in the entrance, the noisy rooms and the mold in the shower
The hotel is next to all the accommodations in Amsterdam you can go just by walking. The customers on reviews are complaining about cleanliness, for me it was good and the room service is available under request. They also have coeffe machine next to the desk.
I am removing one star for the alcoholic and high guests who was next to my room. *SARA* i guess, if you are reading my comments you and your friends are impolite and drunky. When you get drunk be quite a little but and respect your neighbours you aren’t the only one on this planet
Location is absolutely great!! The view from the window was good.
The room and the beds were very small; the bathroom was tiny.
Friendly staff and good location.
The room was very noisy; you could hear people every time they used the stairs or the doors to their rooms. I could also hear plenty of noise from the street. For my room, the bathroom was down the hall. This was a noisy and uncomfortable place to stay. I was also partially trapped in my room by the staff throwing a large pile of laundry bags in front of my door, which oped outwardly. If I hadn’t been a man with decent strength who was willing to kick my way free, I would have been trapped in my room for hours.
