- Beautiful hotel in excellent area with the loveliest of staff. Very comfortable clean rooms and lovely reception, bar area.
- Lovely hotel staff were very helpful. We asked to change rooms and this was not a problem at all. Complimentary drinks and cakes on arrival was a lovely touch. Bed super comfy and lovely spacious rooms.
Cons -
- The bed was not satisfactory
- Couple minor things - hooks in bathroom very high and none for towels. Mirror at the desk would have been good.
- There was a stagnant water smell at the back of the bar. We usually sat near the front door. We also wished the bar stayed open longer!

I got upgraded to a superior king room which was gorgeous, so spacious and the bed was very comfortable.

I really loved the bar area, very nice comfortable decor. Our room was really spacious and very clean.
Nothing negative to say
Great location, very clean.
Small miscommunication, but we wanted to have our room cleaned on one day, and they only emptied trash. Not the biggest deal! The staff was wonderful, and even comped us an upgraded room due to some technical issues with our booking. Great location for walking around and finding great food nearby!
Great location decent size room
Only complain is that the towels weren’t super clean and the room when you’re on the top floor it isn’t tall people friendly. I had to duck a little bit to get to my bed.
Location was fine for me because I visited Amsterdam before. It was convenient was 200 steps from the tram stop and the exterior hotel was clearly to find even at night. The room was very well maintained. My single bed room was a little bit narrow, but sheets, towels, TV, refrigerator, and safe box was excellent. In addition to that, the space under the single bed was good to store shoes and luggage. The bar was nice and I enjoyed beverages. The employees were very courtesy and nice, even if he did not speak English well, but he was very supportive.
A couple of things I would suggest: it was extremely confused the building structure. Narrow. I was concerned in case of fire to evacuate. Other thing is the curtain in the shower was short. Almost flooded in to the bathroom. One more thing is amenity. I wanted to have toothbrush and paste, but there were not, or information if I would like to ask. The window view from my room was neighbor's dumpster. It was disappointed.
Location
Room was very badly lit. Spoke to manager and showed him the room. He agreed and He said he would sort it out. Never heard from him again.
Absolutely nothing.
Everything in the room was full of dust everywhere not to mention cobwebs and weird stains around the windows like it had never been cleaned there was a layer of dirt and grime on the remote that I’ve never seen in my life one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen I was considering bleaching my hand after having touched it without looking at it first
Good location, only a short tram journey from the city centre. Staff very attentive too and the bar area was really nice.
The bedroom was small as was the bathroom. The bed was not the comfiest either - it was okay for a few nights’ stay.
Location is great, staff is very attentive. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.
Breakfast was great. Very easy to move around due to public Transport on the doorstep.
Started hammering at 5am and went on for about 1 hour.Trying to call from room to another impossible, staff did not know. There was a slight glitch when Checking in and out
It was a great location, very close to city center and the canals. We felt cold in our room, and we called the front desk to ask where the thermostat was so that we could make our room a little warmer. The staff person said that the building is on central heating and could not change the temperature on individual rooms. However, staff members immediately brought us extra blankets and a small space heater. That made all the difference and our room was nice and warm for the night. The space heater was also nice to use in the bathroom, so we could stay warm after stepping out of the shower.
The room's furniture and decor looked older and more run down compared to the pictures on booking.com, and of the hotels I had researched before booking, The Lancaster was priced on the higher end. When we arrived early in the morning, it was a little disappointing that we could not check in, but I understand they were fully booked and there was not a single free room where we could check in, which I know is out of the staff's control. The main lobby bathroom was being remodeled, so we were directed to a tiny downstairs bathroom near the restaurant, so we freshened up in there. I then walked into the restaurant a few steps away from the tiny bathroom to obtain a glass of water, and I was met with suspicion, as if I was sneaking in. I was a guest at the hotel!! When we finally checked in to our room in the evening, the sofa bed was pulled out and made up. We didn't need the sofa bed so we collapsed it back into the couch. Under the sofa bed was a small plastic ziplock baggie with white powder. I did not want to know what that was, so I picked it up with a tissue and threw it in the trash.
What I liked about the property is that the staff is very friendly.
First of all, the path to reach the room was inconvenient. Then, the bathroom was completely unusable, very uncomfortable, and the beds were terrible—absolutely awful.
The staff was very nice and helpful.Location was OK, quiet neighbourhood and pleasant to walk around, the zoo is just crossing the road and a few cafe/bar/restos within a couple of blocks.
Super tiny room, even for us that are average size.Cleanness was not the stronges suit of the hotel.Bedhead was all broken and ripped, kinda disgusting (check attached picks).Paper wall rooms, you can hear even the farts of your neighbours.Carpets all around seemed dusty.15 to 20 mins walk to the centric area.
Location was ok
The shower was like a sarcophagus. The TV did not work, no signals. The window barely opened. To get to the room on the second floor required 2 elevators and a maze in between. Room was tight, bathroom tighter. You could not pay me enough to stay here in summer. I've been to other leonardo hotels, this is the worst one, by far.
The location was very peaceful and not far from the centre, the hotel was lovely and clean
The ‘king bed’ was two single put together which made it quite uncomfortable as they kept sliding apart and were very soft
Bad hotel, smelly and dirty...
The hotel rooms are dirty, smelly and look different from the pictures. My recommendation - look for a better placeTerrible hotel. I canceled my stay because of the rooms. They promised me they would cancel my charge and I was charged even though I didn't sleep there!
Location was great. Waking up hearing the birds from the zoo was nice. Easy to walk into the centre from hotel.
We had a problem with the bed on the first night and the staff handled it really well and changed the room for us even to a bigger room.
