De Herbert Amsterdam - Formerly France Hotel

Air conditioning was broken, window did not open right, bed uncomfortable, first room given was dirty but then was switched.

The AC didnt work, no pictures of the room.. Room was not as advertised

Room was hot air conditioning didn't work and had no window that opened!

Staff very friendly, great location and clean!

Bed wasn't very comfortable and our heating didn't work so was cold.

The hotel was brilliant, perfect location. I shall be back.And the black lad on the front desk. Was a credit to the hotel. Really is very good at his job.

Nice near and clean walking distance from the centre and other tourist attractions

My stay was absolutely fantastic, and a huge part of that was due to the incredible hosts, Khaled and Ahmed. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel genuinely welcome and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect.Both were friendly, professional, and always available to help with anything i needed whether it was recommendations, quick responses to questions, or simply making sure i was comfortable. Their hospitality truly stood out and made the experience feel personal rather than just another hotel stay.The hotel itself was excellent, but it was Khaled and Ahmeds warmth, attention to detail, and kindness that made this stay unforgettable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and would gladly return just because of the outstanding service they provided.Thank you, Khaled and Ahmed, for such a wonderful experience!

Excellent location, friendly staff and clean

Good location, close to train station which is what we needed for the night. Spacious enough for two people.

Loved the location, very simple and basic but all that you need, for a short stay. Very comfortable, easy to find, exceptionally well located.

Couldn't control the heating, room was very warm.

No breakfast

The curtains were shocking so creased, the hotel stank, the floors were so dirty.

The location is very good.

The bed is not comfortable, and there was no toothbrush or toothpaste provided, which most hotels usually have.

It was clean

Sound of falling poops from higher floors :DDDDD we were sleeping in 804 :D

Returned again and yet again younger gentleman with the platts on reception in the day has brilliant customer service skills . So friendly and helpful!! The hotel isn't any snazzy but it clean, lovely staff , reasonable price and very very good location. Would deffo recommend

The rooms were spacious and clean , location of the property was exceptional in the middle of everything, 5 minutes walk to Dam Square

The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming as they always are khalid and ahmed went above and beyond.

Central and quiet despite location

Entrance was strong smelling of freshener as v strong smell in corridors carpets dirty v strong smell of weed, no protective cover on mattress , area in room clean but in great need of refurbishment

The close proximity to the centre, the scenery around the area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, very personable, and helped in any aspect we needed. Very happy here and will return.

Can’t say there was anything I didn’t like !

I stayed twice in France Hotel on my trip to and from London and most impressed I was by the friendly and helpful staff, especially Mr Khalid, making me feeling very welcome at that hotel. The place is also not far from Amsterdam Centraal Station, which is also a big plus when you travel by train. In the near are cafes and restaurants, very convenient.
