No elevator, steep stairs. Smelly and damp bathroom. Bathroom door was not closing.
The location was excellent
There was mold in the bathroom, no shower head or shower curtain.
The area is great for this money. Hotel is very small, even though, our room for 3 was quite spacious and even had a balcony. It was not perfectly clean, but ok.
Personnel was friendly but with very special sarcastic sense of humor which was not very polite. I had to have a call and my family was in the room - I asked whether there is a quiet space in the hotel, and was said “well, in your room, haha”. He could just say “no, unfortunately, there is no open space”. And there were 2 or 3 similar dialogues…
We were 3people and therefore booked room for three adults but the room was good enough for 4 adults. It had 2 single beds and one sofa cum bed which was comfortable and good for 2 people. One station away from central station and one station away from Rai exhibition .Owner was polite and gave all information abt the area.Supermarket and lot of restaurants nearby. Room had kettle and small refrigerator. Must have your own coffee or tea bags.Good budget hotel in convenient location.
The stairs as we were on 2nd floor but this is very common in Amsterdam.
To be honest, when I read the reviews I was a bit in doubt whether to book this accommodation or not. But then I saw that people were mainly complaining about the stairs (fair - but that’s quite common in Amsterdam). Overall, I have to say, my experience was really positive: the room was spacious and clean, staff amazing and super helpful and responsive - we had all we needed for our 2 nights stay. Would definitely come back!
The owner was very nice and helpful close to everything about a 15 20min walk to center and lots of bars and restraunts close by also tram and metro right around corner beds were comfortable we booked a standard twin room and was just perfect for two of us bathroom gets very wet after a shower but nice and hot we had a fridge fan and hairdryer and u have one big drawer for ur clothes and a big window with a old fashioned balcony so was great to have fresh air we had a tv but it wasn't working so bring some kind of chromecast and use ur own Internet as we couldn't connect to WiFi we were on very top floor so maybe this was the problem he did say it was broken and was trying to get it fixed and tvs the stairs would have u out of breath but we were on the top so u would expect that with these buildings and the steps are tiny so its a bit dodgy coming back down we always laughed made it fun for us good for a two to three day stay if ur not looking for anyting special it was alot better then we thought it was going to be and we had a great stay no problems you can come and go as u please all night
Nice staff . Good location near metroEasy check in and check out
Vertical Stairs as almost every place in Amsterdam
Very helpful and welcoming staff. Stayed in room 11 - top floor. Stairs are not as bad as people mentioned. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Shower was hot and powerful. Would definitely recommend and definitely stay again.
Provided a kettle with no mugs.
Honestly hotel was amazing, start to finish was made to feel so welcome by the lovely little man at reception, beds super comfy & location was perfect. Thank you so much for an amazing stay :) will 100% be back
You can hear everything from other rooms pretty much but for the price, location & everything else far outweighs any negative
Staff are amazing, they are welcoming and helpful. It was nice of them they have upgraded my room to a higher category. Although the location is not exactly in the city center, but it is located 2-3 minutes away from several public transport options. Also, there are nearby restaurants and shops.
Price is high in comparison to value. No safe inside the room. No housekeeping was done throughout my 5 nights stay, fresh towels were brought in the room only. Stairs are very narrow, which is something typical in Amsterdam.
Disappointing
For almost 100 euros per night it’s extremely bad. For people taller than 150 impossible use a bathroom, instead of big double bed- two small connected to each other and getting splits at night from the middle. They gave us incorrect information about the room number and it was such a cvest to find right one without working at night reception.
The best part was that Jim (assuming he was the owner) was super friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were quite spacious and the bathroom has clearly recently been redone. The room was better than the exterior would suggest. Excellent location!
The place really urgently needs a coat of paint in the hallway and stairwells. We were very skeptical of what we were going to find at the room, but the room was spacious and OK. The steps and hallways are very narrow and difficult with luggage. While there was a kettle, there was no mug / glass / cup. Even upon request, this was not available.
Friendly staff, value for money
Steep stairs
Nice place to stay. Metro, Groceries are close in the area
Too small for 3 people
Location is ok if you don't travel by car.
The "there I fixed it" vibe and the filth but I noticed very low public health standards in The Nederlands, might be a cultural thing. I can understand cheap renovation but the average programmer would have done a better job, the renovation job looked like the owner forced his teenage son to do it. They try to send you to a sketchy parking lot, check on-line everything they recommend. You're better off just getting a place closer to a good parking.
Excellent location.
We asked the front desk if we can leave our bags 30min after the original check out, although we checked out at 09:00am. he told us no, and we had to put them in a locker point close to the hotel and it cost us 11€.
Location was great
Tooooo small room and no elevator
