Pros +
- The location
- This location is about as central as can possibly be, right on Rembrandtplein. If you stay here you would be walking distance from just about any attraction or amenity you could want to see in Amsterdam (museums, canals, train station, etc.)
- I was pleasantly surprised. Great location, great price, very small room, but I was usually only there to sleep anyway. Cozy private bathroom for my room too. It functioned as I needed, and for a 2-3 star hotel, it exceeded my expectations.
Cons -
- It's very loud because of being located in a busy square. The stairs are extremely steep and there's no elevator, it's a hazard with heavy bags. The rooms are just not nice. The pictures are false advertising in my opinion.
- If you are on the first floor, you WILL hear noise and music coming from the clubs on Rembrandtplein until the early hours of the morning. I stayed close to New Year's Eve, so perhaps it was worse than normal? Take into account if you are a light sleeper.
- Sometimes a bit noisy outside from the square at night until late in the morning, but my room was tucked in behind close to the back side, so it wasn¿t as prevalent. Some rooms face the square directly, so maybe bring ear plugs.

Attention by the staff was great
Towels have some stains
Location
The bathroom light kept turning off while using it and was practically unusable
The staff were amazing
I got moved in to 3 different rooms and all of them had bed bugs or wood louce
Location was central and the hotel was a cool old vibe.
Way too loud! I couldn’t sleep because of the noise outside. :(
Location was easy on tram and lots of restaurants near by. Staff were friendly. Nothing else was good
Very dirty, TINY room, TINY shower room and loo. Very uncomfortable bed
Perfect location, nice staff
Tons of termites, TINY room (one luggage barely fits), extremely slow WiFi (10mb when it’s working well). Not at all comfortable. The location would seem worth it if the price were lower but it cost just as much as other nicer places…
location is good.
We had breakfast 4 times. However, we were charged for 6 breakfasts. We only had breakfast for two on Wednesdays and Fridays. Even though I explained this situation, the receptionist insisted.
Location is best. Staff very friendly. Have stayed several times and will probably stay again. Ansterdam is increasingly more expensive, so with that in mind thua us a good deal.
Bathtubs are high, slightly difficult for older persons to get in out safely.
Everything ,staff,clean and location
horrible
the maid entered our room while we we re not there moved our stuff around
Great location . Very friendly and helpfull staff and management .And theres great value for the continental breakfast for 10 euros .
The stairs are a little steep .but thats Amsterdam for you .most stairs are very steep all over the city .
Being in the Rembrandt Square was a definite spot on the location. I didn't have to go explore in the night and be far from my friends. Food, Coffee shops, the bars, and it was just the best location. Will stay in the same area if I come back soon. If you are in Amsterdam try the Rijesteffal at Indrapura or any indonesian cuisines you will be so happy you read this here. Casa di David is the Italian restuarant worth your money, also check out Omelegg little further but has the best eggs, omeletes and Shakshuka.
The fact I had to carry my 50 lb bag 3 stories to my room on the tiniest staircase I have ever seen. They should have some kind of service or use technology in 2025 to get those bags upstairs. There are so many ways to take those bags up, I ended up carrying 3 bags 3 stories. For me it was a hassle, I saw an older women who had to struggle, but the front desk person did help the 2nd half of the stairs to the 3rd floor and I felt better for her.
It is well located, but not for older people, the stairs are too steep and it is complicated to deal with the staff .
Not much.
Really liked the shared bathroom and shower situation. The toilet is in a different room than the shower so people can still go without running into conflict. The location was amazing, right next to the tram station, easily walkable aswell. Next to many restaurants. Spacious room with coat closet, desk, tv and fan.
As most places in this area, very very steep stairs. I also did not like that my room's window opened to a little patio area where rooms 18 and 19 had to go theough to get to their room. There were bird feathers on the floor of my room, assuming from the patio window. I also did not have a sign to tell employees not to come in to change my towels or anything.
Extremely good location in central Amsterdam on the cosy Rembrandt Plein. Tram to central station just outside the door, and shopping, attractions in central Amsterdam was also very close.
Breakfast was on the simple side, with very few choices. My room was also small and simple, but I guess I got what I paid for. Wifi was very slow.
Central hotel on busy square, restaurants and bars surround. Clean and decent value for expensive Amsterdam.
Only location!
From the moment we entered the hotel, there was a terrible smell. Everything looked very old and poorly maintained. The room was much smaller than it appeared in the photos. In the bathroom, the showerhead was not fixed and had to be held by hand, and after showering the water would not drain properly. The bed linens and towels were in very poor condition. There were no cups or coffee provided—only a fridge. Although we specifically asked the cleaning lady not to enter, she still came in the next day, which caused some confusion. Overall, this place does not even meet the standards of a basic hotel, and it is impossible to stay here for long
