Pros +
- The stylish rooms and lounge areas and the all inclusive price
- Fantastic location; quiet area, very close to public transport. Breakfast was always wonderful. Early evening snacks were a welcome bonus.
- Location was fantastic, so cosy. Home away from home vibe.
Cons -
- Nope it was great
- Snug room needed a deep clean, especially the bathroom grout & shower curtain. Noise from stairs & nearby rooms was excessive. I¿d recommend ear plugs & white noise.
- Most of the staff were outstanding. There was B team though couple of young women who would be best off their phones and pay a little more attention to guests and what is going on in the dining room.

Location, cleanness, service
Perfect location. Huge room. House-party ambiance and super helpful staff. Free bar and good breakfast also helped. Bathroom was big, warm and comfy.
The parking was away from the hotel but worked well even if a bit expensive.
Excellent breakfast service and very helpful advice about where to go locally from staff who obviously knew this area of Paris.
Better seating when not in my room - no lounge area really. But the space is small so hardly surprising!
Jan Luyken Amsterdam was wonderful: beds were very comfy, the staff was lovely, attentive & helpful. The breakfast was delicious & the extra amenities were so thoughtful: same day laundry service, happy hour bites & beverages, plus 2 cozy living rooms that we frequented to read and unwind.Right in the middle of the Museum district in a quiet neighborhood. It felt like I almost lived there. The tram was a 6 min walk that gave you access the the rest of the city. Bonus: one block from luxury shopping street. I would absolutely stay there again on my next trip to Amsterdam!
The staff are fantastic - very casual and helpful with anything we wanted. It felt like you were in a home and not a hotel. The aperitivo spread at the end of the day was an unexpected extra, along with drinks (including alcohol) as part of the stay. Was great to come back to that after wandering around Amsterdam. Location was great - close to museums, high end shops, and trams
There was every type of milk in the fridge except normal milk.
A brilliant location to explore some of the best museums in Amsterdam, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The decor was beautiful and the range of food, drinks and snacks was brilliant. Breakfast was perfect.
Amazing location, incredibly comfy bed, fantastic concept where drinks are free and self-service. Feels like a real home from home.
Brilliant location and staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was comfortable and very clean with lots of nice little touches - for example sweets in rooms, snacks provided during the day. Breakfast was also excellent
Nothing to be honest
Enjoyed our time in city
Slippery shower, water on floor after shower. Slow elevator
Amazing buffet breakfast, friendly staff, welcoming energy, beautiful interior design, great location, authentic Dutch architecture, modern facilities, safe environment
Comfortable bed. Bathroom was small, but perfect. Had everything I needed. Great that it had a bath too. Like all the extra touches, sleep pack(eyemasks & earplugs), carafe with glass for water, bowl of sweets, mini fridge. Our welcome was lovely, the girl informed us of everything we needed to know and made us feel at home. It's a very calm, relaxing, quiet hotel. Every room was very well sount-insulated. In the morning you could hear a little from other rooms, but nothing too loud or disturbing. Most of the staff on reception, and the cleaning staff, were all lovely and helpful. It's just a 3min walk to Museumplein Bus stop, and a few minutes walk from Rijksmuseum, so it's very good as a base. Everything in Amsterdam is walkable.
Nothing really. This is very minor: Could have done with a few more hangers, but I know that they would have brought more if I'd asked. They're very helpful. The selection of afternoon snacks was okay, but always the same one type of (quite plain) cheese. There's plenty of red and white wine and beer, and they usually had cava or prosecco, but they didn't keep that stocked as well as the other stuff, and I think a lot of people like that, as it's more of a celebration. I didn't like any of their coffee(from machine), but friends who were visiting did, so that's just a personal preference.
Staff is very efficient and interesting/pleasant to talk to, great/cozy organization of space on the ground floor, great concept of snacks and drinks included in the price. Our number 1 choice also because the hotel is pets friendly!
Maybe an omelet could be added for breakfast.
The location is excellent and in a quiet neighbourhood. The bed is comfortable for European standards with a thick mattress topper. The hotel provides free drinks to its guests.
Each night we have been woken by doors repeatedly closing (sounds like they are slammed) from the floor above, below and adjoining rooms. You can hear every footstep in the rooms above and can hear people talking in adjoining rooms. The rooms are a little dated although clean. Our room had a leak in the heater (which does not work however there is an air conditioner) and caused the carpet to be soaked through. Reported to staff however floor still damp.
I absolutely loved the decoration, the furniture, the colors, and the overall vibe of the place. When you read about the history of the hotel, you become even more enchanted. The staff and reception were warm, attentive, and truly welcoming. We brought our dog Logan, who is still a 4-month-old puppy, and everyone was incredibly kind and caring with us. We felt genuinely happy and grateful for the way we were treated. You truly feel at home here and really get to enjoy every moment of your stay.We stayed in a room with a balcony, and every time we opened the door, we felt an amazing sense of fresh air. We were also lucky to enjoy a sunny day in Amsterdam right in the middle of winter. The bathtub was another highlight: very comfortable and relaxing. We travel to Amsterdam at least three times a month, and this was the first time we stayed at this hotel. It won’t be the last. Absolutely no regrets.P.S. I almost never leave reviews, but this place truly deserves it.
I would have preferred a less high pillow
It was 2 blocks from the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum, and one block from the high-end shopping street.
It’s an old building with narrow stairs, but typical for Europe.
The whole hotel is beautiful and designed to be fully enjoyed. Breakfast was lovely as well. Every detail of the accommodation is well thought through. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The foyer is gorgeous, and the rooms are beautiful. I will definitely come back.
The only small thing was that I had to ask for slippers, but once I did, they were provided immediately.
Self-service à d free drinks included in your room fee
Breakfast goodbye but à little short on choice
