    Pros +

    • Location great. staff charming and helpful. Nice breakfast, pleasant sitting area with balconies on reception floor. Typically small European rooms but ok if your out and about.
    • First, remember this is a very old city. Yes the stairs to enter the hotel are very steep, there is no elevator but I didnt mind and thought of it as part of the charm. The common area was very nice and I enjoyed reading my book. Staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were nicer than expected, clean. No need for a gym the stairs will get your workout in. Alot of construction in the area but I loved the location. Close to everything, a grocery store right down the street. The included breakfast was as expected for Europe, nothing amazing but it was included so cant complain.
    • I loved the historic building and convenient location! I loved the decor and the cleanliness- it was amazing. My room was exactly what I needed ! I also like the sitting room to relax with a coffee all day. The breakfast… omg talk about a spread. Everything is included in the cost of the room and they go out of their way to feed you! The people who work there are just the greatest part— so friendly kind and helpful.I felt completely cared for.

    Cons -

    • Total of 72 steps on narrow staircase up to our room. 36 up just to reception Not a problem for us, and staff cheerfully help with luggage, but travelers with mobility issues won't be able to manage. This should be made clearer to potential guests.
    • I liked everything.
    • The room was very small, with practically no place to move. The hotel itself is on a second floor, with very steep stairs to get in.

Location is very good, close to tram stations and shops, all is in walking distance. Breakfast is very good, on sunny days you can even sit on the balcony. Room was clean and was very comfy and personally loved the airco. Staff were very friendly, even helped carry one of my bags. Will definitely stay here again

The steep stairs were quite daunting on my first visit, but thankfully a staff member helped me with my bags <3

Location was great, staff were awesome, Ahmed and Dr Abdul were great at customer service

Location was the best, whitin walking distance to most sightseeing.

Great location. Good breakfast. Clean hotel and room. Friendly staff.

The photo of the room I booked online showed a standard window. The room I was given had a tiny window blocked by the roof of the hotel itself. That and the very small size of the room felt like a prison cell. Four levels of very steep shallow stairs to get to this small room. Had I seen an accurate picture of the window I would have booked another hotel that I saw nearby for only a little bit more in cost.

Close to city center, very walkable, nice architecture, loved the cats in the hotel, excellent staff

The room was a bit small but reasonable

Extremely nice staff. Also the cats are adorable! Central location for this price is wow. Great breakfast too.

The room wasn't exactly the cleanest.

    Clean, location, buffet.

Too many stairs. No elevator. I would have left as soon as I saw the stairs and asked for a refund if we had arrived earlier in the day and had not already been too tired to look for another place. The hotel is good for fit young people, not for an elderly couple like us.

Breakfast was very good. The staff was very helpful. Location is good.

The rooms are small. The stairs to the hotel are very long and steep. Not a good option for elderly and people with large luggage.

Good location, easy access to the town centre. Friendly and helpful staff, although if someone is allergic to cats, this may not be a good option.

I probably should read more carefully what I am paying for (still over 200 Euros per night), but the listed 53 sq ft room (with probably half of it being hallway) was smaller than I have ever experienced. The TV set is in the room, but there is practically no way to watch it, as there is no place to sit (or even to walk easily). No chair, single pillow on a very small bed, just added to a very unpleasant experience. Narrow, long staircase to reception and rooms, no elevator. The photos on the website show a different room than the one I had.

    7EvanPosted on: 9-23-2025

Very central location. The room was clean, but small.

The stairs to get to the lobby are long and extremely steep, plus additional stairs to get to your room. Highly advise against if you have large luggage. The room was very small, so would be tight for more than two people, or for a long stay.

Nice location close to many sites. Clean room though quite small. Steep stairs to climb when you enter but the staff are very willing to help with luggage. Nice views and quiet at night. The breakfast was very good and the staff were great.

Small rooms with very little space for luggage.

    10JohannaPosted on: 9-15-2025

The staff was excellent, breakfast was plentiful and the beds were so comfortable!

    We loved it all

    10Alice P.Posted on: 9-9-2025

The location of the hotel was fantastic - very close to Anne Frank House and nice shopping area. The room was extremely clean and breakfast had many good choices. Food was fresh.

The room I was in was extremely small but I knew that in advance and was fine with it. It may have been more of a challenge for someone extremely tall or travelling with a lot of luggage.

The hotel is charming and located in a convenient area. However, the real gem is the staff! They really cater to their guests.

No fault of the hotel, but there is some construction right in front of the building, which may have increased the homeless population on that stretch of the sidewalk.

    8RPosted on: 8-14-2025

Included breakfast was nice. Balcony and sitting area are great for a rest or coffee. Bag storage was helpful. Good location, even despite construction and closest tram stop not being in service during my visit.

Stairs are very steep, but I knew about this so that was expected. Room was also (expectedly) small, but it was fine for one person for one night.

Staff were super friendly, amenities were nice, cats were sweet and beds were comfortable

Every person was friendly and attentive. From my arrival, to my check in, to the historic charm and steep a** stairs. :) I wouldn’t change a thing. Well maybe, ….on day 3 in Amsterdam , on a tour bus, freak accident - recline feature on seat in front of me, but my tray table, right? Ha! Weight of seat and person and the angle of the tray into my already bum knee. BUT, I digress - the staff was accommodating, but the true standout employee, is Bob, on the swing shift! He was nurturing and kind, ice, towels and assistance. The hotel owner, also a retired doctor had topical cream, ibuprofen pain relief and knee wrap, which I’m still using and wearing, delivered to my room, from the kindness and goodness of his heart. All employees were great and friendly - I will be back :)❤️
