    Pros +

    • Well appointed room with a nice view of the canals. The staff was helpful.
    • The staff were really helpful and polite. The Happy Hour is like nothing I¿ve seen in over 20 trips to the city The location is absolutely perfect - out of the hustle and bustle of the immediate centre and close enough to Leidseplein, Museumplein, etc
    • The hotel exceeded expectations with the food and beverages provided at breakfast and the afternoon happy hour. The customer focused breakfast manager made our stay more pleasant. The canal boat tour provided was an unexpected bonus.

    Cons -

    • For a deluxe room, it seemed small and not a good value for the price.
    • Happy to see a huge bed in our room until we actually went to bed on the night to discover it was two mattresses pushed together - that was a big disappointment. The stairs! We could have done with some access to bottled water.
    • We requested a fan from a front desk employee who did not follow through.

Nothing positive to say about my experience

Terrible customer service, even from management. No intention to ever book here again.

Staying here was a DREAM. Our room had a canal view and it was so beautiful. The beds are so comfortable. The staff is SOOO amazing. The breakfast was wonderful. They have a great happy hour everyday from 4 to 6. This place was freaking GREAT!!!! When we come back I would feel lucky to stay here again. The stairs... they're a bit of a beast but... no pain no gain. My glutes thanked me for the workout.

Hotel is exceptionally maintained. The room definitely felt like a home. Noor, at the front desk is without a doubt an above and beyond employee. Making guests feel welcomed and engaged comes naturally to her. I enjoyed every little thing! Thank you Noor!!!

The fact that I'm too old to climb stairs with luggage. That's all on me.

the breakfast was great! the server/cook was excellent.

we didn't know that room service only came if you stayed over 3 nights. that should be better communicated during check-in.

We loved the complimentary breakfast and daily happy hour - such a nice treat! A lovely patio to enjoy breakfast or a drink!

The stairs up to our room on the third floor were very steep. We managed fine but not a good choice for anyone with mobility issues! It was like going up a ladder!! The beauty of a canal house with wonderful history!

    8SchoenharlPosted on: 10-2-2025

Location great. View of canal was great! Happy hour was nice.

The finishes like carpet in hallways and stairs looked worn. Some of wallpaper in room was peeling

Staff was friendly. Hotel was conveniently located and well priced

We were in a lower level room with no air condo and no ability to open a window. It got extremely hot during the night.

Charming old house converted to hotel in quiet corner of Amsterdam. Close to central metro line.

    Badly soundproofed unfortunately.

    7AlonaPosted on: 8-21-2025

Location is perfect! The view from the window is fascinating. Food at the breakfast is varying and good, and you can eat it at the beautiful patio.

Not all the rooms have air condition and even if you have one and don't open windows at all - some mosquitos can sneak in and wake you up early in the morning. The other thing is breakfast - it's varying and tasty but only one person is cooking the breakfast that's why it was a huge line for getting some eggs. I waited almost an hour to get a food and was close to miss my flight about that. If you offer a breakfast option - be ready to provide customers with a good service.

Great location right on the canal and walking distance to everything.

The room was a bit hot but we had a fan to help cool us..We were on street level and curtains didnt close properly.

    8MajidPosted on: 6-14-2025

It was pretty quiet, and the hotel was not too large so it was never too crowded at the breakfast buffet. I also liked the breakfast itself. They didn’t have too many choices where you don’t know what to get, it was just the right variety.

It’s quite a walk from the main station, and easy to miss. The stairs are also very narrow and dark, which could be problematic for visually impaired guests.

    8PagésPosted on: 6-12-2025

It has a great location and the staff is very nice.

It’s a little noisy and there was no warm water the day we had to leave so we had to shower with cold water.

    3PREMJITHPosted on: 6-12-2025

So difficult to get out of the bed , one small narrow corridor turned into a room , really small set up

    5GiovanniPosted on: 5-6-2025

    Location

Room was hot. Ac didn’t work. They left a window ac unit but was difficult to use as the windows had to be open and the room faced the street. Toilet flush stuck so the water ran constantly. Bed was too old and mushy.

    9JenniferPosted on: 5-2-2025

Friendly, well located hotel comfy bed, large bathroom, close.to metro

Steep stairs but we were lucky enough to be on ground floor

    3LouisePosted on: 4-26-2025

The breakfast was excellent on both mornings.

It is dark, worn, tired and not particularly clean. The hallways are beyond dirty. There were bags of presumably laundry spilling out on both landings the night we arrived. The wallpaper in our room and the tile floor in the bathroom are stained. No kleenex or shampoo. The bed isn’t really a bed, but rather a pullout coach with a foamy on top. The towels were old decades ago. The toilet paper and Kleenex when we got it were frightfully cheap. The windows were very dirty and fogged up and stayed that way by for two nights F hts. There is no lobby to speak of, just a cramped desk in a cramped alcove. All this for $1,000 Canadian for two nights. Seriously lacking for the price we paid.
