Pros +
- -Interior design/building structure. -Spacious rooms
- Friendly staff and good restaurant vibe.
- I travel to Amsterdam on a regular basis, and after staying at several different hotels, I’ve found that this one is simply the best fit for me. Everything about it feels right - the staff, the room, the comfortable bed, and the location, including the convenience of catching tram 26 right outside the hotel.I also really like the neighborhood, which isn’t overly touristic. Breakfast used to be à la carte in the past, but it has now been changed to a buffet, which is perfect for my needs.
Cons -
- Bigger sign for the hotel, delivery guys got lost.. haha
- staff seems very junior and many untrained/ in training. very sweet but too many mess ups for a hotel of this caliber. room cleaning is very poor and the restaurant staff is not profesional. More than two orders missed in one meal, staff seemed unaware of the menu, poor / wrong advice on wines etc.. and very slow to bring drinks/ food out. We had a specific issue with poor room cleaning (despite requesting it for all nights as a family of 4 staying together in one room..). We kindly asking that it be fixed when we arrived back in the evening and saw the room hadn’t been touched. we called twice to have the issue regulated, and despite the front desk saying they would take action, no action was taken. Not even a call back to say it wasn’t possible. We got a 40 euro coupon for our troubles at check out, but it left a poor taste. The architecture, design, entire Hoxton brand is so special and awesome but the team at this hotel needs to be more than just nice. They need to be vetted and trained properly for their positions and act professionally. Sadly we aren’t sure we will rush back.
- Breakfast options not a lot especially cheese options.

beautiful property, generous rooms, very comfortable beds and everything brand new and well designed.

Staffs are amazingly friendly and helpful. Check in and check out very fast. Returning deposit is fast.
Breakfast options not a lot especially cheese options.
Gorgeous interiors and beautiful room with great attention to detail throughout. Rooms were very nice and extra lux. Very comfortable beds and nice pillows, ESPECIALLY for Europe! And amazing prices. 11/10 stay.
The location was a bit out of the way for most of what we wanted to do in Amsterdam.
Relaxed but high end. Staff is fab, food excellent, comfortable and decor/art is outstanding.
The location, and the ambiance of the hotel were great. Half the staff were amazing (the other half on the better side of indifferent). Our room with the bunkbeds and the main bed was pretty perfect; space and amenities-wise. The neighborhood is fantastic, the tram is a 4 minute walk and accessible to everything and there are two lines that intersect there.
The main entrance is two flights of stairs with no ramps, and no staff or bellhops. Hope you enjoy awkwardly dragging your bags in and out. Even a small portable ramp on the stairs to facilitate rolling bags would be helpful. We’re allergic to feathers, comforter and pillows are all feathers, no big deal, we’re used to it. Called down at 4pm when we realized, they said they’d take care of it while we were out for dinner. Got back around 11:30pm and bedding not changed out. Called down again, a lady came up at 12:30 with 1 small pillow, and one twin duvet for a king sized bed. Came back 20 minutes or so later and had 2 weird orthopedic pillows and a kingsized duvet but with no cover. By the time all this got sort of resolved it was almost 2am. They left an apology note the next day with a couple of boxes of gummies. A guy came in the morning with the right pillows and a king sized duvet with cover, so seems like they were available, late night staff just didn’t know where to get them (yes, i am making an assumption)We also had a sort of hostile experience with a staff member, we went to look at “the apartment” lobby area and as we entered he asked us what we wanted, obviously not into the fact that we were there. We said we were just checking the space out, he was again very inhospitable as he told us he was setting up the bar for an event in a few hours. I’ve worked in hospitality, and we literally just walked into a Space advertised as public, to look for a second and his reactions were completely unwarranted. Last issue, Barbue, the fancy cocktail bar at the end of the hotel is no longer a cocktail bar, but just an event space. The regular lobby bar was available, and it was fine, but i did want to try a cocktail, in the space that I had read about.
I loved the design of the room. The staff were also friendly. The location of the hotel was great as well.
Beautiful decoration and interesting history. 24 hour desk. Very good staff for all needs.
Very noisy at night from bars across the road out front.
Hotel made the upgrade of room to BiggyWe liked it and left for 2 more nights4 days of 5, we took free bicycles from hotel which was pretty cool and convenient
Sometimes my requests haven’t been heard and done (cleaning, new towels)But afterwards everything was done.
Location only
Terrible room with smallest of windows on 4th floor which looked out onto concrete facade. Totally clostophobic.Bed had a huge dip which proved impossible to sleep soundly in. No tea, coffee - milk in room as promised at reception. Reception robotic in their response to our discomfort. Having paid 350 euros (excl breakfast) we felt robbed and bitterly disappointed. FYI our booking was made 2 months prior to our arrival. The 30 euros per person city tax stung all the more (12.5% of room cost). Breakfast quality was acceptable but chaotic room.. Having to pay extra for hot milk in my coffee was a bridge too far for 20 euros. All image and no substance establishment - what a shame for the unsuspecting traveller.
The architecture and the location. The spacious room and amenities.
The room could be better cleaned. There was dust and crumbs on the carpet. The room is ideal for a family but the bunk bed is quite close to the ceiling and the kids bump their heads often.
8 minutes from the central train station. Outstanding historic hotel, large open rooms, with great beds and pillows. Good breakfast plus very good dining menu with reasonable prices. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Location and rooms.
Quite and clean and the staff are helpful
Although away from most tourist attractions, the hotel is 5 minutes away from major transportation stops and offers peace and quiet after a long day of sightseeing. Also close to highway to rent a car and do things outside of Amsterdam. We loved the decor, yummy breakfast at onsite restaurant and overall boutique feel.
This is a great location and really nice hotel, we really love the Staff is great thank you Valentina for making our stay so memorable she went above and beyond to help us in every way! And thank you for the Gift!! Hope to visit again
Super comfy beds, nice space (we were upgraded from twin to double queen)! Cool details, clean, all mod cons!
Beautifully designed, loved the restaurant interiors and the hotel details were all thoughtful and modern. Has a happy vibe.
It wasn’t the best location for us, but with the free bikes from the hotel, you can get around Amsterdam very quickly. Also we didn’t like the food at the restaurant.
Nice restaurant, breakfast, and helpful staff
