Location was good

Room is about 5x7, with a tricky air conditioning system and shared bathrooms. For the price you can do better. Much better.

I have stayed here twice and I 100% recommend to everyone!!! I am so grateful for all of the staff for accomodating me and making me feel so welcome. Everyone is so lovely and helpful, I really appreciate all of their time and assistance. Everything is so clean and I was so comfortable. Also prime location

Location was great, very convenient. Staff were absolutely lovely, we got a free upgrade on arrival with an amazing view and they allowed us to leave our bags until 5pm rather than 2pm on the day we were checking out.

Staff were great, although not very helpful when we brought up things we’re missing. Just told that we have “missed placed them” or “you didn’t close the door correctly”

We had an amazing stay at Ciao Papa Hotel Amsterdam! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome — everyone was so friendly, helpful and genuinely kind. The service was outstanding, personal and warm, and really made the difference for us. The price is absolutely right for what you get. We truly enjoyed every moment and would 100% recommend this hotel. Can’t wait to come back!

Basic facilities and a shared bathroom

The location is excellent, walking distance from the main train station. Everything was in walking distance, the hotel was in the city center. The stuff was extremely polite and helpful. All in all it was a great staying in this hotel, and would definitely book again for our next stay in Amsterdam.

The were so many stairs and they were so steep, definitely not recommended for heavy packers.

Great place if you like bed bugs

The room we booked had bed bugs. We noticed this in the evening of our first night at around 9pm. When we reported this to the reception, they weren't able to offer us a different room because the hotel was fully booked. They also weren't willing or able to help us book a different hotel room in Amsterdam. We had to last minute book a new room in a different hotel that ended up being more expensive and we had to cover the cost ourselves. I also overheard a conversation that another room in this hotel had bed bug issues. After searching more on Google, this seems to be a common issue at Ciao Papa hotel. I strongly advise against this hotel.

Overall very decent value for money and amazing location right in the heart of the city, walking to the hotel from the train station is really easy and everything you’d need is close around. Better for someone who doesn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money but also doesn’t want to stay in a hostel not knowing who they are sharing a room with

My only thing I didn’t really like is when I checked out I was allowed to leave my bags but they didn’t have a seperate room or locker. They do give you a tag to wrap on your bag but there is still a possibility of when someone else returns to grab their bags from the lobby they also could grab yours

Great stay in Amsterdam. The location is excellent, the rooms are simple, comfortable, and very clean, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. I felt very well taken care of. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Amsterdam.

Great location near Central Station for a one-night stay.My fault entirely — I somehow missed that the toilet was shared. That said, for just one night, it was survivable and not the end of the world.We were on the top floor, which comes with a warning label: if you have breathing issues, you may not live to tell the tale. By the time you reach the room, you’ve done your cardio for the week. On the plus side, security felt solid — no one is casually hiking up there, and there’s definitely no quick escape route. If someone did make it up, they’d deserve to stay.The view from the top floor was genuinely fantastic, almost enough to distract you from the climb and the mild oxygen deprivation.Temperature-wise, it was pretty cold overnight. The heating had a mind of its own, and the duvet felt more “light summer breeze” than “December survival kit.” Either that, or we were so high up we’d drifted slightly closer to space.Overall: quirky, safe, great views — just pack a warm jumper and maybe a portable lung.
