Hotel Continental Amsterdam

Location to Centraal Statio is convenient, but otherwise it is located on a very very very very loud street late into the night.

Needs much maintenance and thorough cleaning. We knew this going in from other reviews so we were not surprised, but would not likely stay here again while in Amsterdam. We had little choice because of last minute travel plans and the IBC convention

The location was excellent, near train station and very central with every thing needed walking distance. Bedding at least was clean

Reported a non flushing toilet on private bathroom to reception as soon as we arrived, They said use shared bathroom down the corridor. In 4 days stay no one came to repair. Stairs are very steep , but the danger was building materials and bass of laundry left on corridor. To make matters worse workmen would start making noise at 8am. When we went out of hotel , they were removing asbestos. The hotel should have closed while this was being done

Very clean, very good heating system that can be adjusted easily, excellent location.

Amazing location and able to walk to all the hot spots in Amsterdam. Also a 10 minute walk to the airport train station which was nice when arriving and leaving

Heater did not work and shower barely worked but other than that very comfortable and what we expected for price.

On Dam square, right in the center of everything

Extremely small rooms, with just beds. NOTHING else. Also, walls are made of thin material, you could literally hear every person living next room.

Location is really good, very convenient if you reach city by train, the main station is close, city center also. The room seems clean, bathroom also. Staff was nice to us.

About the room: we took a room for 6 people, but the room was super small, it was really difficult for us to move there, also there is not enough space where to keep all our stuff, no hangers for outside jackets. Bunk beds didn't have side handles, we were scared to fall out of the bed at night. The door handle to the bathroom was broken, but overall the bathroom was nice and clean.

The room, bathroom, and shower were clean. The bed was comfortable. Bedroom door locked.

No breakfast, super noisy outside and inside, gross smelling hallways, stained curtains, tiny shower, no lock on outside door to hotel, only one key card per room. All in all, a crummy little hotel. And not a good place for light sleepers.

I liked how clean room service was, beds all done nicely. no charge for stains on towel.

Absolute perfect location for myself in Amsterdam and my room had a lovely big walk in shower.

The stairs are high and steep which appears to be the way in all of Amsterdam so just be careful.

Comfy beds and affordable.

Shower head was broke, plug sockets was out the wall dangling, shower light switch cord was broke so hard to have light for shower.

Room not clean, no elavator for the room located upstair, room was too small, stair was too narrow and not stable and made of wood

It is close to Amsterdam Centraal which is convenient.

The room for 6 people is like 10 m2 or less. It is so tiny, so uncomfortable. You weren’t able to do anything because of the space. The staff is not amicable.

Because we visited in weekend our price was high so room as per price was not very satisfactory but location is great and staffs are good.

Sharing the bathroom and even shared bathrooms are very small

The location is excellent, close to the train station and the Red Light District. The staff are friendly and the room is clean and has excellent water pressure.

The soundproofing wasn't good and we couldn't get a good night's sleep. We could hear people talking at reception and every time someone came up the stairs, as well as vacuuming at 8 a.m. Housekeeping also disturbed us several times when we were trying to rest during the day. They should have a “do not disturb” sign. The bed is very soft too.
