I needed to be near the station on this trip for logistical reasons, and the location was the best thing about this place. Easy enough check-in experience with the hologram staff person, but that's the only time you interact with anyone so hard to rate staff.
But the room was pretty awful. I had an attic room which was accessible by four flights of typical narrow and curvy Dutch stairs, lucky for me I only had a backpack because getting a suitcase of any size up there would have been next to impossible. But the room itself was not clean, really dusty, dirty floors, windows, etc. There was no bedside light at all, the only light available was the bright overhead light. The water in the bathroom sink was problematic, only coming out in short bursts as if there was air in the tubes. No plugs anywhere useful - no place in the bathroom to plug in a hair dryer and no mirror in the room if you could find a plug there. No TV channels - you could only log in to your personal streaming service (from what I could tell). And the bed had an old lumpy mattress. I'm a very frequent traveler to Amsterdam, and this was at the lowest end of anyplace I've stayed.
Great location. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We arrived at 1:45pm and were told the room wouldn’t be ready until 3pm which is after our check in time. When we arrived the room was clearly not cleaned properly as there was hair/dirt on the carpets and bedding. There was urine dribbles around the toilet seat and toilet roll on the floor, whilst there was beard hairs around the sink area. There was no hot water in the shower either just to top it all off.
Great location for the train station and shops.
Alit of stairs to bring up luggage. It was a little noisy with other people going to their rooms at night.
Good location, clean and comfy rooms, very clean and good views
Very steep stairs to get to the room - this was raised by the hotel, so it wasn't a complete surprise, but the top floors in this hotel may not suit those who have lots of luggage or cannot climb steep stairs.
It was really cosy. We were on the last floor and the view was perfect. The bathroom was also impressively clean and beautiful.
It was really cold. There was cold air getting in by the window (old building…) and the heating was just under it. So when we close the curtains…. no more heating and just the cold air coming through :( We also had an issue in the morning with the water in the shower. It was hot for 30s and then FREEZING.
big spacious room, comfy bed
there was no communication, took over an hour to let us check in from the given check in time as room wasn’t available. we could see staff cleaning it outside at the given check in time. i had to message the property myself to ask when it was going to be available as we only didn’t know it wasn’t available until we got there and they said another hour. was disappointed as we were only in amsterdam for the night. a later check out time would’ve been nice to make up for it but nothing was done.
Always clean, modern, spacious and the hologram feature was perfect.
The staircase was quite steep and difficult to take luggage upstairs
Got breakfast down town . Location good
Lower floor next time
Very modern. Heat/air con was excellent. Free chocs every day was a nice touch. Decor was lovely. Location was perfect. Lovely and quiet despite being so close to the centre. Felt actually very secure despite there not being a manned reception. The constant replenishment of towels was excellent.
Aspects of the room needed a better clean (dirty shower head, dirty bedside tables), the luggage storage room felt a bit unclean and the locker doors were falling off the hinges.
The hotel is situated in a perfect location. Just a short walk to the train station but on a quiet stretch of the canal. The hotel was spotless and well equipped with everything we needed. The staff member who greeted us at reception was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was nestled right at the top of the hotel which had a gorgeous view of the canal. The room was very modern with a comfy bed and heated bathroom floors. I have stayed in Amsterdam many times now and this was the best hotel I have stayed in for all the factors mentioned.
Many people have mentioned in other reviews the stairs are very difficult. I must say though this is a very old house and that is the nature in which these houses were built.
The hotel was in a great location - 5 min walk from train station and easily walkable to many attractions. The room was bigger than expected with comfy bed and lovely floor-to-ceiling view of canal.
The bathroom was not well ventilated, and as a result there were some patches of mould on the wall. There was also a noticeable layer of limescale on the showerhead

Stairs to our second floor roomDid not receive housekeeping services on 2nd day. For the $300+ night charge, we should have been able to count on receiving daily housekeeping service. Mngnt acknowledged the oversight but only partially remedied the mistake
The location is close to Amsterdam Centraal station, just a short walk. We were on the ground floor which was great. Comfortable & heating in the floor made it nice and cosy.
A few things broken which was disappointing. Coffee machine leaked, light above the bed was broken. It was loud being next to stairs & you can hear people upstairs. And food was left in the fridge from previous stay.
Location, comfortable and cosy. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
I just had a bad sleep on my 1st night due to unusually loud guests, in the early hours of the morning staying above me. Not the fault of the staff , who sent me a reassuring message and said they would investigate along with an apology.
Great location and beautiful view from the room. The locker option for after check out was very nicely thought out, and the staff was very friendly.
Seems a bit “Black Mirror” to have the reception through some holographic screen with cameras pointed at you, but I understand that for a building this small, having a real reception would eat up space from the rooms.
It was the worst hotel I have stayed. There was very bad smell in the room and in the bathroom. It was not possible to open the window. I was very difficult at the midnight opened door.
Very bad hotel. There were very bad smell in the room and in the bathroom. It was old and was very dangerous for me
I loved our stay at this accommodation. When I booked it, my expectations were lower because of its location near the Red Light District. However, the street itself was surprisingly quiet, allowing us to get a good night’s sleep. It’s also very close to Amsterdam Centraal, which made getting around the city—and especially traveling to the airport—very convenient. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with three queen beds that accommodated the five of us well.
The only downside was our arrival experience. The street is very narrow and one-way, and there was no temporary parking available for unloading luggage. We had to drive around while cars behind us were honking, which was stressful. This is definitely not a car-friendly area, so arriving via public transportation would be much easier. We had rented a car since we were coming from several other cities. Additionally, our room was on the second floor with no elevator—only steep stairs—so carrying large luggage required extra caution.
