    Pros +

    • the building and its character and history
    • Quaint decor and furnishing, preserved some of its history.
    • We loved the vintage feel of the hotel and the friendly staff.

    Cons -

    • current management was minimal, and not particularly engaging; check in was "matter of fact", rather than welcoming
    • Bathroom was small and very old. There was dirt on the floor and hairs in the tub. The sink drained very slowly.
    • Very very old building. Smelled musty. just creaky and empty.

    location and view were great

We could not understand why if the Ferry leaves at 8:30 why their Breakfast did not start until 7:30.That was cutting it close so we left without breakfast. I know it's an old home. But no elevator was a challenge for my husband as it was 4 flights of stairs to go up 2 floors.Neighbors dog out back woke us up 2 times. We like sleeping with windows open by the ocean but this was a big mistake.

Earlier breakfast time.MUCH better TV system.Warn people about the "stairs" and the dog barking.

Nice view of the harbour, clean friendly, good breakfast section( continental)

Some minor repairs to do, very small bathroom. Slightly over priced.

Owner was very kind and attentive. On-site laundry. Entire property and room very clean. Nice location near the harbor, room with harbor view. Walking distance to several restaurants on/near the water. Small downtown near the water. Several historic homes. Breakfast continental, nice selection but minimal protein sources. Room was adequate, nicely appointed. Liked the period decor of this historic inn. Appreciated having a fridge in the room. Nice to have a key to the front door. Property secured after hours, only accessible with a key provided by the owner. Liked learning about the history of the inn and the journey of the current owners.

Would have liked more protein options at breakfast, maybe cheese or a slice of luncheon meat. Missed having a coffee maker and microwave in the room, but imaging these were omitted due to space and wanting to keep rooms tidy. Microwave was available in the shared parlor downstairs.

Linda, the owner made you feel so comfortable. The room gad a very homey feel. The breakfast room was elegant.

    All was great!

Inn is run-down and a little grimy. Furniture, carpets, etc. not clean. Breakfast was almost non-existent. Understaffed. Would not recommend.

    Good location, historical

Took a long time to get hot water in the shower…hate the waste but it clearly states that in the info…the shower was worth the wait!

Friendly staff, good location by the water, walking distance to many restaurants and shops.

    Mattress was a bit firm.

    9LindaPosted on: 10-9-2025

Thoroughly enjoyed the owner Linda’s hospitality! Breakfast was lovely and everything was excellent in this quaint inn.

We had a king suite which was spacious and comfortable but was on the third floor, so lots of stairs hauling luggage.

    9AndrewPosted on: 10-6-2025

Very nice historic property run by a welcoming family. Bed was super comfortable, the shower was hot, and the continental breakfast was simple but good quality.Handy location just a few minutes walk to the waterfront and town center, a number of dinner options.

Nothing to fault, but anyone with limited mobility should note there is no elevator to get to the upper floors where the rooms are.

    8RobertPosted on: 10-3-2025

Breakfast buffet was better with more options than average. The building has a scenic position on a hillside looking out to the harbour, but a little too far out from town center for us to walk to the restaurants.

Perhaps people could be asked to be mindful that sounds do transfer through the floor/ceiling. It sounded like whoever was above us was moving furniture around for about half an hour.

Location was supreme! Breakfast was fantastic! I have a gluten allergy and the owner made sure I still had wonderful things to eat at the complimentary breakfast.

Bit of a haul bringing my stuff up two flights of stairs but not a big deal if you are fit.

    10DouglasPosted on: 9-19-2025

Beautiful boutique hotel, a walk away from the water, the staff was very friendly. The room was beautiful and we had a great time!

    5MarilynPosted on: 9-19-2025

Breakfast was good and a good value.

The pictures were deceptive. The Inn is in dire need of upgrading and refreshing within the concept of a historical home.

    5JoycePosted on: 9-14-2025

    Cleanliness, convenient location.

Mattresses feel cheap and hard.Bedding feels skimpy, worn out.An extra blanket was needed, but not available. The unit was cold.
