Pros +
- The setting is beautiful and the public areas are nice. The rooms are fine, but missing the small details of a typical R&C. Staff were nice, but were often not available to help, for example with taking bags to the room.
- This Relais et Chateaux hotel is located in the manor home of a former "rubber-baron", built above the shores of Lac de Sables in the mountains north of Montreal. It was expanded by subsequent owners, then acquired and restored. All of the fixtures and floors and furnishings are either original or true to the period, so the effect is walking back in time. It is absolutely gorgeous. A wonderful tour is given telling the history, pointing out the various features. It has a lovely restaurant with a view of the lake, and a beautiful garden around the pool. Everything is top-notch, as you'd expect in R et C properties. Highly recommend for a night or three away from the hubbub of the city! And, the price for what you get is sooo much lower than in the city, a real bonus.
- Everything was wonderful! Staff is so nice. Food exquisite. Decor is magnificent!
Cons -
- The property seems understaff. Service js slow at breakfast, no one at front desk often and no one to help take bags to/from room that was in another building.
- Service at the restaurant was friendly, but a bit slow at breakfast and it wasn't even full. But it turned out one waitperson was new. I'm sure they have gotten the hang of it by now. :)
- Service was a little slow at bar/ lunch/ pool but staff was so pleasant it was hard to be upset

Beautiful stay, beautiful old charm
Service was a little slow at bar/ lunch/ pool but staff was so pleasant it was hard to be upset
Friendly & attentive staffBeautiful grounds & very quiet pool area
For this level of hotel we felt a bunch of the smaller things were lacking;-Small thin pool towels-Tiny hair dryer-Only 2 shower towels provided in bathroom- room furniture was in an odd configuration, we ended up rearranging and putting the chairs together in the larger space by the window so we could sit together and chat-there was an ice bucket on the room but no ice machines- would be nice to have a booklet in the room to tell us a bit about the hotel's history and service offerings
Great view from nice deck outside room. Wonderful toiletries. Great shower. Great towels. Housekeeping each day. Convenient parking. Comfortable bed.
Bed was noisy. No place to put suitcases. ...other than lay on floor. Shower made the whole bathroom floor wet. No way to prevent sunlight in the morning (only had windows slats for privacy). Thought we were getting a king bed and instead had a queen size.
This time I stayed at Le Chalet and I loved it. I would stay there again. Very comfy, a bit secluded and peaceful.
The hotel was lovely. Tastefully decorated in the appropriate historical style. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating in English and French. Our dinner at the restaurant exceeded expectations and the wait staff and sommelier were wonderfully engaging, friendly and knowledgeable. The outdoor heated pool was great as were the sauna and steam - rolling in the snow and jumping back in the pool were icing on the cake. It is pricey but worth it.
Our room was a little on the small side, but, with all the skiing and amenities, we didn't spend much time there.
Location was perfect for us. All staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The bed was very comfortable and our room was very comfortable. We had 2 excellent dinners and thoroughly enjoyed the winter setting.
Evening/nighttime Lighting in the entire gym area needs improvement.
everything except the steam room/ hammam
We visited the steam room around 9 pm. We switched it on and waited for about 10 -15 munities but it never heated up. It was also a bit unclean.
The price, the pretty tea pots and the quaint little library area
Bartender did not know how to make an amaretto sour, then proceeded to rim the glass with salt instead of sugar. At the restaurant, the waitress, while detailing what was on our plate, approached her finger to about 2 cm from our plates to point out the hot pepper. The atmosphere was really not what i expected, will not be returning, nor recommending
Staff very helpful and attentive. Restaurant is amazing. Discovery menu and matching wine pairing was impeccable. Sommelier very knowledgeable and we have learnt a lot. Spa was lovely with great complementary warm ginger tea drink.
Not enough power outlets in room. Need a more powerful in-room hair dryer. No change room beside spa pool. In winter, it's very cold for guests to wear only swimwear and bathrope to walk outside to reach spa pools.
We loved its secluded location on a large beautiful property. We loved our room - 300- very much. The manor itself is beautiful and the hot tub and steam room were wonderful. The staff were all excellent.
Room 300 is all wonderful but needs an exterior light above the door for nighttime - hard to see its number and the place to tap the key. The railing into the hot tub needs to be reinforced. Finally the steps up into the sauna were slippery the day we were there. These slight problems were the only problems.
Lovely setting and well kept property with great beds and spacious rooms.
Furniture was uncomfortable, too many antiques with dainty hard chairs in the room. Crazy that they have new LG TVs (too small) but they are not setup for casting which is unacceptable when all hotels offer casting or access to login to your streaming channels. Food was good but they need to offer more options for casual and pub dining.
CharmingFantastic restaurant Amazing serviceNice bar area
No interior spa
We took the supper and were served a lovely carrot soup. We wonder why it was not shown on the menu. Fortunately, we noticed that other clients were having soup and we inquired about it. Same with salad.
The main meal was served with unappealing vegetables that were not good to the taste either. We were not given the room that was booked through Booking. Very inferior room, with drop ceilings and no view. They blamed Booking for this discrepancy and refused to give us a discount. We had come for a romantic getaway with a mountain view.
Very relaxing and chill experience. Beautiful property with access to hiking trails. Outdoor pool and sauna were heavenly. Food and drink were exceptional. Staff were very attentive. Very nice property.
We liked everything.
The staff were amazingly welcoming and friendly. i interacted with maybe 10 different staff members and everyone was super friendly and helpful. They were also super kind to my dog which was a great added bonus.
Room was small and under equipped e.g. no coffeemaker and not even a humble kettle.Breakfast was a la carte (not buffet) and too expensive imo.
Not only an excepcional hotel in terms of architectural and finishing; but one of a kind in therms of service, hospitality and quality. The cuisine, is to say the least excepcional. From breakfast to meals throughout the day; finishing up with a sublime dinner is an experience to live every day!
Loud children at the pool at a Manoir, when you want to relax.
Clean, spacious, variety of amenities, pleasant staff
room was small (possibly due to reservation via booking.com), no evening turndown service, no checkout service when leaving at 6:00am, no poolside service or lifeguard, poolside clean towels were still wet
