Somerset Lakeside Resort

The room was really nice and pretty. The lake amenities are great and the water is beautiful!

The beds are very stiff and uncomfortable.

Wifi is weak, location is beside the highway. Its an okay place

I cannot do any work at all cause the wifi sucks

Somerset resort is a great place to stay, if youre around the area. Rooms are huge, clean and friendly staff.

Cottages are well equiped and heated (electrics heaters) The lake next to the cottage is really beautifulland the location is quiet Owners are friendly and welcoming

Very nice roomy accommodations. Great dock with fire pit area good parking and room to hang out.

The entrance off the highway should be better marked.

The property was beautiful. We really liked the proximity of our room to the dock, the free coffee bar and the nightly campfires. We unfortunately didn't get a chance to use any of the water toys as we were in the area for a family event.

We didn't have water the morning that we were leaving but it was quickly fixed. I found that the restaurant breakfast was overpriced for the portions received.

The campfire by the lake was lovely.

Unfortunately, they did not serve breakfast the morning we were there due to staff shortage.

The view of the lake, the room was clean and modern. The staff were friendly.

It doesnt have an ice machine, although you can buy a bag of ice. We were in the position that we were only there for a night so we didnt have a cooler. The staff were helpful in getting us a bit of ice (enough for 2 drinks) but we ended buying a bag of ice although it was way too much. Ice buckets and an ice machine would be an asset for this property.

food was great. Room exceptional. Very clean and well kept.

Staff is very attentive. There is a restaurant onsite with exceptional home made food with exceeded my expectations. The room and bathroom was bright and clean. Excellent location just outside of Bancroft.

The rooms were really nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. They had a lot of different things to do from games to kayaks, canoes, which was nice they are free to use. The restaurant was nice and food was excellent.

They wasn't anything we didn't like

The location was spectacular, we loved being by the lake, and that alone made it worth staying.

The beds in our cottage were really uncomfortable, and not large enough for a couple so we each had to sleep in one of the full-size beds, because there was no queen or king. Also The lady at the front desk was challenging, we also had a forgotten item and we were put off by having to pay $400 for our room and not having somebody be willing to post back a retainer. We arrived late in the afternoon and left early in the morning and yet were not offered any sort of discount for last-minute arrival.

The view from the room (lakeside king room) was lovely. Friendliness of the owner and dining room staff were great. Nice to have a dockside fire going in early evening. I liked the overall casual feeling of the resort. Great red wine!

The bed, for me, was not comfortable. The room was small offering very limited sitting space. We felt the long large dresser was unused and took up way too much space. I would recommend that it be replaced by a smaller one and allow for a more comfortable chair space (not really usable in its current location). The bathroom is also small and without any vanity space around the sink making it very inconvient to have make up, toothbrushes etc handy at the sink. A magnifing mirror would be a welcomed addition. I would have liked our room to have had housekeeping service once a day. The floors became dirty with sand/grit and the used towels never really dryed. Most of all we did not like the ice smashing machine behind the bar, It was so loud we had to plug our ears while dining if it was used. The sound could also be heard in the morning while we were in our room, directly above the bar area. The food in dining room was sometimes great, other time not. Breakfast was hit and miss (eggs not cooked very well). Dinners were ok.

The room was nice and clean. The location is well kept.

It would have been convenient to have a microwave in the room.

I enjoyed breakfast & accommodating us with our gluten free options. Staff very kind & helpful. I appreciated banisters & wide steps, lights & gravity chairs as I have mobility issues. Thank you

Unfortunately I didnt read the fine print about booking through , booking, com. I was distressed about not being able to stay another night. Other resorts, hotels or motels are not helpful to people with mobility issues.
