    Pros +

    • Close to the waterfront and activities for kids
    • Location, Free Parking, spacious suites. Complete Unit with Kitchen.
    • Lots of parking space. Clean and good location.

    Cons -

    • It was damp, old, and did not smell clean.
    • Suite was too cold, some thing wrong with heating unit in that suite plus Fire Place was not working. Parking lot was full of ice and too slippery.
    • No one at home to greet you at the front door. You had to carry your luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Anyone who is in poor health or weak would not do well staying here. Asked about breakfast services and owner texted back rudely.

Great stay! Very helpful staff. Wonderful location. Lovely little touches to the stay.

Could have been cleaner but it was ok.

Amazing location. And total Independence. This is the kind of Hotel you would want to stay at if you didn't want to interact with any staff. If you needed staff you could call them but otherwise it is a do-it-yourself self-serve experience. Ample parking

Everything met expectations and was a great experience.

the old character and style and furnishings of room

    10DavidPosted on: 12-8-2016

The"Great Room" living room with real stone walls and soaring ceiling height was spectacular. This room has a memorable atmosphere, made even better with fireplace pumping out the heat on a cold evening. The kitchen had a great collection of teas.

    Nothing to complain about here.

Gorgeous themed rooms in a historic building. They've thought of everything for your comfort. Beautiful furnishings and decor.

Close to the waterfront, very good location with onsite parking. Suite was large, with huge living room, separate bedroom and small kitchen which was well equipped. Heating controlled by wall thermostat for the gas fireplace.

When we arrived, the suite had not been made up from previous guests. That was upsetting. Luckily, after a quick email to the owner, someone arrived to clean it within a half hour. The owner himself also came in to apologize, so all was well in the end.

    Quaint and historic. Centrally located.

It is a bit bizarre. No desk. No staff. E-mailed me code to the front door and had my room door open and waiting. That is fine but I was not told where to park. Also, old house - very noisy in AM. My room door was at bottom of stairs. Lots of noise in AM

The rooms were beautifully decorated and had high ceilings. The full kitchens were great.

i liked the historical objects and paintings, the lighting and the location. It is very walkable to many good restaurants, the waterfront, parks and attractions.

The location is great being so close to the waterfront !

We stayed in the corner suite on the ground floor and the traffic noise can be quite loud! Also the windows in that suite need some repairs!

Location, full kitchen, nice bathroom. Nice art work.

Bed, needs an upgrade, not good, very lumpy.

    7JamesPosted on: 10-4-2025

Location and room were great. Loved the decor and the history in binders on the table. Nicely restored. Liked the coffee in room and the oatmeal packages.

Bed was too soft for us. Tub/shower needs a rubber mat as it was very slippery when showering.

This historic building was amazing. We had the Judge’s Suite, which was originally a ground floor parlor in this historic home. The original floors and woodwork were great and the suite was eclectically and thoughtfully furnished, even down to the teapot. Loved it.
